Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace, the Foo Fighters’ sixth studio album, was released September 25th to the biggest worldwide fanfare of the Foo Fighters’ 12-year-plus career. ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY awarded the record an A, calling it “Perfect” and noting “The band has taken everything it’s always done best and brought it to the next level,” while the band’s U.S. tour was recently announced, including a first ever headline date at New York’s Madison Square Garden that sold out in minutes. Elsewhere, Echoes… entered the UK chart at #1 with the biggest first week sales by an international artist in 2007 and the biggest first week sales ever on iTunes UK. RYAN ADAMS & THE CARDINALS ANNOUNCE WEST COAST DATES

NEW EP FOLLOW THE LIGHTS IN STORES NOW

Continuing an apparently endless run of some of the best-reviewed performances of his career, Ryan Adams and his Cardinals have confirmed their first dates of January ‘08.

The west coast tour extends what has already been an immensely productive year. In addition to the unanimously acclaimed new album Easy Tiger (lauded by Time as “a career breakthrough”) Ryan & The Cards recently released an EP entitled Follow The Lights, comprised of “reflective and sober renditions of a handful of Mr. Adams’ near-classics” (The New York Times). The two new songs on Follow The Lights (the title track and “My Love For You Is Real”) will be featured prominently in the ABC primetime drama “October Road”, which premiered Thanksgiving night. Finally, the band’s live shows continue to thrill audience and critics alike; The Washington Post recently noted that “[Ryan’s] perfectionism was apparent from the stunning arrangements and interplay with The Cardinals…the group sounded rehearsed and precise without sounding at all formulaic.”

The itinerary for the January tour is below. All shows go on sale the weekend of Nov 30, with the exception of San Diego, which is on sale now.

1/16 – Tulsa, OK – Cain’s Ballroom
1/18 – Tucson, AZ – Rialto Theater
1/19 – San Diego, CA – Spreckels Theatre
1/21 – Santa Barbara, CA – Arlington Theater
1/22 – Claremont, CA – Bridges Auditorium
1/23 – San Rafael, CA – Marin Center
1/25 – Salem, OR – Elsinore Theater
1/26 – Seattle, WA – Paramount Theater
1/28 – Berkeley, CA – Zellerbach Hall
1/30 – Los Angeles, CA – UCLA Royce Hall

JAYMAY AUTUMN FALLIN’ OUT MARCH 11, 2008

JAYMAY
AUTUMN FALLIN’ CONFIRMED FOR MARCH 11 U.S. RELEASE ON BLUE NOTE
DECEMBER 12 HOMECOMING SHOW AT NEW YORK’S MERCURY LOUNGE

“Poignant pen-pictures of young love in Manhattan, rich in lyrical detail and bursting with sweet acoustic melody”
–Q MAGAZINE 4-star “Q Recommends” review

“Think Woody Allen if he were young and female–and could sing”
–THE OBSERVER, 4-star review

“The raw ingredients for Jaymay’s music are simple and familiar – an appealing drawl, a guitar, a hint of violins – the execution is what makes this a special debut album.”
–METRO (UK) 4-star review

New York City songstress Jaymay has confirmed a March 11 U.S. release for her debut full length Autumn Fallin’ on Blue Note Records.

Currently touring the UK where Heavenly Recordings has released Autumn Fallin’ to slew of 4-star reviews (see above), Jaymay got her start at a NYC open mic night in 2003. Soon after she was invited to play at various Lower East Side venues such as Pianos, Mercury Lounge and her much buzzed about (and oversold) Living Room Residency, which moved Gothamist to gush “Girls with Guitars are everywhere in this city, but this one –like a siren–was pulling people into this room and leaving them silent, speechless even. Shocked and lulled into a stupor.”

Jaymay eschewed the inevitable and numerous label offers that came in the wake of these shows, opting to self-release the beautiful Sea Green See Blue EP, which scored an “indie spotlight” on iTunes and frequent rotation on Los Angeles’ influential KCRW). She then began work on Autumn Fallin, a song cycle that vividly details the story of a New York City relationship gone south for the Winter.

Ultimately, EMI made her an offer she creatively couldn’t refuse, resulting in perfect homes at Heavenly Records in the UK and Blue Note here in the states.

Since then, Jaymay (born Jamie Kristine Seerman) has taken up residence in London, touring Europe and the UK with the likes of Bright Eyes, Jose Gonzales and in coming weeks Caribou and Okkervil River.
She will be returning to New York to round out her year with a one-off homecoming show at the Mercury Lounge December 12th at 7pm.

THE MARS VOLTA THE BEDLAM IN GOLIATH OUT JAN. 29, 2008

THE BEDLAM IN GOLIATH OUT JAN. 29, 2008 ON UNIVERSAL
“Goliath The Soothsayer” Game Exclusive To Amazon.com Beginning Jan. 2, 2008

Beginning the first week of January, visitors to the Amazon.com music page (http://amazon.com/music) will be the first to experience “Goliath The Soothsayer,” an online game based on The Mars Volta’s forthcoming The Bedlam In Goliath. The game will be available exclusively via Amazon.com from January 2nd through January 29th, the official street date for the new record. Pre-order is not necessary to play to the game.

“Goliath The Soothsayer” is based on the true story that inspired the narrative laid out on The Bedlam In Goliath. Like previous Mars Volta efforts De-Loused In The Comatorium and Frances The Mute, the album is a thematically linked whole, the songs chapters in a bigger story, inspired by real people, places and events. The Bedlam In Goliath chronicles The Mars Volta’s time with the “Soothsayer” a/k/a the Ouija board owned by vocalist Cedric Bixler-Zavala, and its mutation from a source of amusement during the tour supporting the band’s Amputechture album into a malevolent psycho-spiritual force that nearly tore the group apart, collectively and individually.

A trailer for the game can be viewed at:
http://video.umrg.com/marsvolta/goliath_the_soothsayer/quicktime.asp
The Mars Volta was formed by guitarist/producer/arranger Omar Rodriguez-Lopez and lyricist/vocalist Cedric Bixler-Zavala and issued its first recorded work, the Tremulant EP in 2002. The band has since released three full-length albums, De-Loused In The Comatorium (2003), Frances The Mute (2005)–both of which have been certified gold–and Amputechture (2006). The Bedlam In Goliath will be The Mars Volta’s fourth studio album. Like Frances The Mute and Amputechture, it was produced by the band’s own Omar Rodriguez-Lopez.

FOO FIGHTERS ANNOUNCE US TOUR DATES FOR ’08

“The Henry Fonda theatre was rocked to its core Monday night by the Foo Fighters, as they tore through their set, never letting off the gas pedal…”

AFI I HEARD A VOICE: LIVE FROM THE LONG BEACH ARENA OUT NOVEMBER 13

2006-2007 marked the undeniable apex of AFI’s unrelenting 15-year climb: AFI’s seventh album, DECEMBERUNDERGROUND, entered the Billboard 200 at #1, the smash single “Miss Murder” nabbed the 2006 MTV Video Music Award for Best Rock Video, the band made a SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE appearance and swept ROLLING STONE, ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY, BLENDER, ALTERNATIVE PRESS and REVOLVER’s Best of 2006 lists.

Throughout all of this, however, it was the AFI live experience that catapulted the band to arena status, as they wrapped the first leg of their U.S. headline tour by selling out the Long Beach Arena and SF’s Bill Graham Civic in record time. On November 13, the release of I Heard A Voice: Live From The Long Beach Arena will provide an aural document of the aforementioned Long Beach show.

The connection between AFI and its fans–many of whom belong to the fiercely loyal Despair Faction–in the live setting is absolute. As documented on I Heard A Voice, every single audience member is as emotionally invested in the show as the band members themselves. And much like their recorded output, the unique AFI live ritual has captured the attention of the mainstream: THE LOS ANGELES TIMES’ review of southern California radio giant KROQ’s Christmas show gave AFI “the show’s MVP award,” while SPIN recently named AFI one of the current music world’s “Greatest Live Bands.”
