Nine Inch Nails has confirmed ten final dates after which the NIN live experience will go on indefinite hiatus.

As always, a significant percentage of the best tickets for the shows will be reserved for exclusive pre-sale on NIN.com. In this case, NIN.com pre-sale will include every ticket for the most intimate farewell shows at New York’s Bowery Ballroom and Webster Hall and Los Angeles’ Henry Fonda Theater and Echoplex.

NIN.com pre-sales will begin July 17 with general on-sales following July 31.

The Horrors will support the August 22, 23 and 25 New York dates. Mew will support August 28 in Chicago and September 2 and 3 in Los Angeles. Support for the remaining dates will be announced at a later date.

Something To Write Home About 10th Anniversary Deluxe Reissue Featuring Live DVD Out September 8

Following a number of instantly sold out reunion shows at venues including New York’s Gramercy Theater, Los Angeles’ Troubadour and San Francisco’s Great American Music Hall, the Get Up Kids have confirmed a full U.S. tour. The tour will kick off September 11 at Harrah’s in the band’s native Kansas City and will coincide with the 10th anniversary deluxe reissue of its landmark second album, Something To Write Home About, September 8 on Vagrant Records.

The Get Up Kids formed in 1995, releasing a succession of formative singles and EPs and the 1998 first album Four Minute Mile before settling into the lineup that debuted on 1999’s Red Letter Day EP and recorded Something To Write Home About: vocalist and guitarist Matt Pryor, brothers Ryan and Rob Pope on drums and bass respectively, guitarist Jim Suptic and keyboard player James Dewees. Subsequent Get Up Kids studio albums included the Scott Litt-produced On A Wire (2002) and Guilt Show (2004). The band officially disbanded following a July 2, 2005 hometown swansong at the Uptown Theater in Kansas City.

The once and former Get Up Kids have kept extremely active in the interim between their original break-up and the current reunion: the Pope brothers now run Black Lodge, the studio formed to record Guilt Show, while Rob Pope now plays bass in Spoon.
Pryor has continued the New Amsterdams band he formed while still in the Get Up Kids, and has also released two albums of children’s music with the Terrible Twos as well as his first solo album, Confidence Man. Suptic formed Blackpool Lights and co-founded the Curb Appeal label, while Dewees has continued his Reggie and the Full Effect project, and served as touring keyboard player for My Chemical Romance and New Found Glory.

The Get Up Kids’ first reunion show took place November 16, 2008 at the Record Bar in Kansas City. Subsequent reunion performances have included a March 13, 2009 show at Liberty Hall in Lawrence KS–a DVD of which will be included in the 10th anniversary reissue of Something To Write Home About–as well as numerous sold out headline shows and an appearance at the May 2009 Bamboozle festival. The September-November tour will be preceded by an extensive series of dates throughout the UK and Europe.

New York, NY – July 6, 2009 – The latest installment of this summer’s deluxe remastered Beastie Boys series has been confirmed: Ill Communication will get the multi-format reissue treatment on July 14 on Capitol Records. Beastieboys.com will be taking preorders as of July 6 for versions ranging from a digital download of the full album and bonus b-sides/rarities disc to an ultra-deluxe 3 LP 180HQ vinyl version packaged with a lenticular hardcover coffee table book case and limited to 1500 copies.

Debuting at #1 upon its May 1994 release, Beastie Boys’ fourth album would quickly become an unstoppable force of nature, pervading every aspect of pop culture and public consciousness. Its charge to the top of the charts was led by “Sabotage” and its legendary Spike Jonze/Nathanial Hornblower helmed tribute to ’70s TV police dramas, as ROLLING STONE dubbed Ill Communication 1994’s “soundtrack for summer.” Crowds and critics alike were equally and instantly floored by hip hop highlights like the opening “Sure Shot,” the classic Jimmy Smith homage “Root Down” and the Q-Tip collaboration “Get It Together,” as a VIBE (RIP) cover story- the magazine’s first on a white artist–hailed Beastie Boys as ‘perhaps the most consistently innovative musicians to emerge out of hip hop.” It was a claim that Ill Communication would justify for years to come, as everything from the household name hits to instrumental favorites “Sabrosa” and “Ricky’s Theme” to hardcore punk workouts “Tough Guy” and “Heart Attack Man” remain B Boys staples to this day. The first Beastie Boys headline date confirmed to follow the album’s release, the band’s debut stand at the famed Hollywood Bowl, has sold out. Further dates will be announced as they are confirmed.

Meanwhile, Beastie Boys recently began a summer festival mission with a set at the Bonnaroo festival in Manchester TN that blew the crowd of 70,000-plus out of their Birkenstocks and caused devil sticks to spontaneously combust. The performance featured an appearance by Nas who joined the Boys for the live debut of the new record’s “Too Many Rappers,” as well as a rare appearance from Country Mike for an acoustic rendition of “Heart Attack Man.”

The mission will continue throughout the summer and will include upcoming appearances at the All Points West and Lollapalooza festivals, the latter of which will be preceded by a just-announced intimate Beastie Boys show at the Congress in Chicago on Thursday, August 6.

Finally, the last installment of the deluxe, remastered, expanded and altogether awesome Beastie Boys catalogue reissues will be dropping in advance of the new record: the band’s multi-platinum 1998 opus Hello Nasty will be given the 2-CD/vinyl box set/multi-format treatment beginning with an August 17 pre-order/digital release and will hit stores August 25. Preceded by the universal smash “Intergalactic,” Hello Nasty crashed into the #1 spots of charts worldwide upon its July 1998 release, with first week sales of nearly 700,000 in the U.S. alone. Boston, MA (June 23, 2009) – Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Paul McCartney will perform for the first time at Boston’s historic Fenway Park on Wednesday, August 5 and Thursday, August 6, 2009.

Tickets go on sale Monday, June 29th at 10:00 a.m. at livenation.com, at the Orpheum Theatre Box Office at 1 Hamilton Place or by phone at 1-800-514-3849. No tickets will be sold at Fenway Park.

The Fenway concerts on August 5 and August 6 will feature classics from McCartney’s extensive catalog, including Beatles, Wings and solo career hits as well as selections from his most recent album Electric Arguments, released under his alias The Fireman.
