It’s official: Foo Fighters are following up the release of the band’s most ambitious album with its biggest ever North American tour to date.

In the wake of Sonic Highways’ climb into the top 3 of charts worldwide and the announcement of the band’s first ever U.S. stadium dates, Foo Fighters have now unveiled a full North American stadium/arena/amphitheater assault for summer/fall 2015. This most massive North American on-the-road undertaking in FF history will see Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett and Pat Smear headline multiple historic U.S. stadiums for the first time: New York’s Citi Field on July 16, a debut doubleheader at Boston’s Fenway Park on July 18 and 19, as well as the previously announced August 29 Chicago headline at Wrigley Field that sold out in one day, and the July 4 all-day 20th anniversary blowout at DC’s RFK stadium.

Royal Blood has been confirmed to support on the July/August run of these newly added dates – with the exception of August 27 in Indianapolis and the first Fenway show on July 18, which will feature a special appearance from hometown heroes and post-punk pioneers Mission of Burma.

And there’s more… Tickets for the Foo Fighters 2015 tour (with the exception of Fenway Park) will first go on sale via the BEAT THE BOTS: BOX OFFICE ONLY PRE-SALE this Saturday at 10am. Foo Fighters 20th Anniversary

It was barely two weeks ago that Foo Fighters played a super intimate show at the Black Cat in Washington D.C., about which The Washington Post ran a review featuring the line “the Foo Fighters could have gigged at RFK Stadium instead of spending the night at a cozy rock club.”

And now, tickets for Foo Fighters’ 20th anniversary extravaganza at RFK Stadium will go on sale thisSaturday, November 8 at 10am ET.

There will be no reserved seating. Field tickets and seated tickets are general admission only. There will be no pre-sale.

In addition to being Foo Fighters’ biggest U.S. headline engagement to date, the band’s July 4, 2015 20thAnniversary blowout will be an all-day affair and include a BBQ, motorcycle rally and fireworks display – it is the 4th of July after all.

The all-star supporting line-up features an awe-inspiring assortment of musical ambassadors of the eight cities where the new FF album Sonic Highways (out November 10 on Roswell/RCA) was recorded and the band’s HBO docuseries Foo Fighters Sonic Highways was filmed: A huge inspiration for the lyrics of Sonic Highways lead track “Something From Nothing” — not to mention guitar players through the ages –– Chicago’s own Buddy Guy will perform. Gary Clark Jr. will be on hand to represent Austin, making for a generation-spanning double shot of guitar Godliness. From Seattle, Heart is confirmed to appear, Ann and Nancy Wilson having joined the FF family for its Late Show with David Letterman week-long stand leading into the HBO series’  premiere. Representing Los Angeles with ties to New York, will be longtime FF comrade in arms Joan Jett, who recently joined Foo Fighters Dave Grohl and Pat Smear for Nirvana’s induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Lauded New York hip-hop artist LL Cool J will also be making a special appearance featuring DJ Z-Trip. Rounding out this once in a lifetime who’s who of musical greatness will be DC hometown legends and kings of go-go Trouble Funk and, representingNew Orleans, the incomparable Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue.

So don’t forget and don’t delay: Go to http://bit.ly/FOOJULY4 10am this Saturday. All tickets are created equal for the Foo Fighters July 4th 20th anniversary blowout, but few shows will ever create these kinds of memories. JACK WHITE AND FOO FIGHTERS

Dear dream-makers of the media….

Last night Jack White made a joke on stage!

There was a minor equipment mishap, specifically with his guitar, and in an effort to keep his audience engaged, he made a joke! It was meant to be funny and self deprecating: “hey sorry, you’re stuck with just me up here…” vs the Foo Fighters who have three guitar players on stage and regularly play stadium shows.

Jack has the utmost respect for the Foo Fighters and communicated with Grohl this morning.

So if you’ll let us, we’ll all continue with our day and we assure you: All is well in the rock n roll world.

“This album is instantly recognizable as a Foo Fighters record, but there’s something deeper and more musical to it. I think that these cities and these people influenced us to stretch out and explore new territory, without losing our ‘sound’.”—Dave Grohl

FOO FIGHTERS have confirmed the worldwide release date of the band’s long awaited follow up the 4X-Grammy-winning, international #1 Wasting Light: The band’s eighth studio album of all-new material will be titled Sonic Highways and will be released globally on Monday, November 10.

The cover art of Sonic Highways has also been unveiled along with a first taste of some of the new music at Foofighters.com.

Additionally, http://bit.ly/sonic-highways is now accepting pre-orders for the Sonic Highways CD and 180 gram vinyl LP. The vinyl album comes in an assortment of nine different covers including eight variants each themed for one of the cities in which the album was recorded: Austin, Chicago, Los Angeles, Nashville, New Orleans, New York, Seattle, and Washington, D.C..

http://bit.ly/sonic-highways will be the only place where fans can order the specific cover – or covers—collect ‘em all!—of their choosing. An array of limited edition bundles featuring exclusive collectibles will also be available.

Produced by Butch Vig and Foo Fighters and being released in the U.S. on Roswell Records/RCA Records, Sonic Highways clocks in at just over 44 minutes and is made up of the following tracks:

1. Something From Nothing
2. The Feast and The Famine
3. Congregation
4. What Did I Do?/God As My Witness
5. Outside
6. In The Clear
7. Subterranean
8. I Am A River

Though not a soundtrack album by any stretch, Sonic Highways shares its title with the Dave Grohl-directed eight-episode HBO series described by Grohl as a love letter to the history of American music and premiering Friday, October 17 at 11 p.m.. For the album and series, Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett and Pat Smear wrote and recorded one song in each of these eight cities, delving into the local musical currents: how each region shaped these musicians in their formative years, and in turn the impact those people had on the cultural fabric of their hometowns. All songs feature local legends sitting in, with every lyric written in an unprecedented experimental style: Dave held off on putting down words until the last day of each session, so as to be inspired by the experiences, interviews for the HBO series, and other local personalities who became part of the process.
