The Europa EP: Side A features an exclusive new mix of previously unreleased material from U2’s recent eXPERIENCE + iNNOCENCE Tour: Charlie Chaplin’s electrifying speech from the movie The Great Dictator (1940) underscored with a mash-up of Songs Of Experience album track ‘Love Is All We Have Left’ and 1993 classic ‘Zooropa’, leading into a performance of ‘New Year’s Day’ recorded live in Dublin on 5th November last year.

Side B is comprised of two ‘Euro’-tinged remixes: St. Francis Hotel’s mix of the original album version of ‘New Year’s Day’ and Jon Pleased Wimmin’s Euromantic mix of ‘Love Is All We Have Left’.

The EP cover art is a Chaplinesque homage to the Europe-themed artwork of U2’s 1993 album Zooropa and features the figure 130, in celebration of Chaplin’s 130th birthday which falls on the 16th April 2019.

PAUL AND LINDA McCARTNEY PRESENT REISSUE OF PROFESSOR LONGHAIR LIVE ON THE QUEEN MARY

PROFESSOR LONGHAIR
LIVE ON THE QUEEN MARY

Reissue of 1975 Performance Presented by Paul and Linda McCartney

Vinyl, CD & Deluxe Formats Feature Foreword by Hugh Laurie

Remastered at The Music Shed, New Orleans

Out April 5 via Harvest / MPL

“… pianistic intricacies–which inspired Fats Domino, Huey Smith, Allen Toussaint, Dr. John, and other New Orleans luminaries” — Robert Christgau, Consumer Guide

Originally released in 1978 on Harvest Records, Professor Longhair’s Live on the Queen Mary documents a legendary performance from the Venus and Mars album release party thrown by Paul and Linda McCartney and Wings in 1975.

Live on the Queen Mary was recorded March 24, 1975 on its titular cruise ship, while docked in Long Beach, California. Highlights include the rollicking “Mess Around,” the standards “Stagger Lee,” “Everyday I Have the Blues,” “I’m Movin’ On,” and Professor Longhair’s own hits “Mardi Gras in New Orleans” and “Tipitina” about which Hugh Laurie writes, “Because that live version of Tipitina, oh sweet Lord. If the record had nothing else on it, it would still be a treasure beyond price.”

Professor Longhair a/k/a Henry Roeland “Roy” Byrd (December 19, 1918 – January 30, 1980) was a New Orleans blues singer and pianist. He was active in two distinct periods, first in the heyday of early rhythm and blues and later on during the resurgence of interest in traditional jazz surrounding the beginnings of the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. Professor Longhair’s influence was crucial to many of his fellow New Orleans musical legends, such as Fats Domino, Allen Toussaint and Dr. John, all of whom were touched by his rumba, mambo, and calypso piano based blues sound.

Live On The Queen Mary will be re-released April 5 via Harvest / MPL across digital platforms, on CD and on newly remastered 180gram vinyl LP. The album will feature a foreword by Hugh Laurie, as will the limited edition “Long Live Fess” deluxe, which will also feature the 180gram LP, the double A-Side 7” Single “Tipitina”/” Mess Around,” and more. Vampire Weekend: New Video for “Harmony Hall” Out Now

Vampire Weekend: New Video for “Harmony Hall” Out Now

Vampire Weekend’s new video for “Harmony Hall,” the first single from their upcoming fourth album, Father of the Bride, is out now and can be viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IlkTVMMkCP4 . The video was directed by Emmett Malloy, director of previous Vampire Weekend videos “Giving Up The Gun” and “Holiday”.

Father of the Bride remains slated for a spring release on Columbia Records.

The critics on “Harmony Hall”:

On “Harmony Hall,” Ezra Koenig and his bandmates spend a joyful five minutes and nine seconds summoning a springtime mood, with cheery piano and sweet guitar licks that allude to their early sound while also introducing a bright new energy. – ROLLING STONE

“Harmony Hall,” among the first great thrills of 2019 pop – THE ATLANTIC

Euphoric…  “Harmony Hall” sprawls out with lush symphonies, communal vibes aplenty. It begins with gentle acoustic guitar harmonics and some of the plainest, most direct lyrics Koenig has ever sung… they sound, somehow, completely new. – BILLBOARD

A fine return to form, and feels as bright and fresh as spring… “Harmony Hall” is sweet and nimble, a welcome return to form for a group that always seemed to float atop the currents of pop and rock… But his often-cryptic lyrics find balance with a tune that is buoyant with rich guitar and piano riffing that will make old-school fans happy. It may still be winter, but spring is already in the air with the band back in the mix.  – TIME

“Harmony Hall” takes on the lusciousness of a warm spring morning with frantic guitar strumming and coordinated piano playing…. “Harmony Hall” shows that Vampire Weekend can succeed when faced with adversity and the passage of time, which can be fatal for some bands, but for them, it just adds fuel to their sound. – CONSEQUENCE OF SOUND

We Are So Lucky That Vampire Weekend Are Back… The New York band is and always has been very good. Period… They’ve morphed into a band that can please just about anybody.  – NOISEY

Vampire Weekend songs tend to be multilayered creations: refusing to be confined by genre, refracting big-picture epiphanies through personal experience…You could not mistake this song for anyone else….. “Harmony Hall” is a vibrant romp that seamlessly blends folksy fingerstyle guitar, ’90s rave music, a gospel choir, baroque piano, and the Grateful Dead. There are so many moving parts, but it scans as fun, danceable pop music, albeit with a melancholy streak…. As urgent manifestos go, it’s absolutely delightful. – STEREOGUM

Egypt Station was released September 7, 2018. It’s a celebration of all the things that make McCartney great: hope, exuberance, open mindedness and sweet melody. These days, we need all of these more than ever.”

Paul’s Freshen Up Tour continues to pack stadiums and arenas across the globe, resuming March 20 at the National Stadium in Santiago, Chile, and running through July 13 at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.

BECK ANNOUNCES CO-HEADLINING THE NIGHT RUNNING TOUR WITH CAGE THE ELEPHANT

COLORS WINS TWO GRAMMY AWARDS FOR BEST ALTERNATIVE MUSIC ALBUM AND BEST ENGINEERED ALBUM, NON-CLASSICAL

Seven time GRAMMY winner (including 2014 Album of the Year for Morning Phase) Beck has confirmed a return to the road in the form of a co-headlining tour with Cage The Elephant—with support from Spoon—beginning July 11th at Sunlight Supply Amphitheater in Ridgefield, WA.

Tickets go on sale to the general public beginning Friday, February 15th at 10am local time at LiveNation.com. Citi is the official presale credit card for the tour. As such, Citi cardmembers will have access to purchase presale tickets beginning Tuesday, February 12th at 10:00 a.m. local time until Thursday, February 14th at 10:00 p.m. local time through Citi’s Private Pass program. On this tour, Beck and Cage The Elephant are joining forces to give back. Together they’ve partnered up with PLUS1 and $1 from every ticket sold will be donated back into each city they are playing in, supporting local food security initiatives as they work towards ending hunger in their communities.

Having already WOWed listeners twice in 2019—first with “Tarantula” from Music Inspired by the Film ROMA, and more recently with “Super Cool” from The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part—Beck is excited to once again take it to the stage. While his 2017 album Colors (Capitol Records) has enjoyed some of the most positive reviews of Beck’s peerless career, as well as two GRAMMY awards (Best Alternative Music Album and Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical), live performance has always been Where It’s At (sorry) for modern music’s consummate chameleon—as reviews from his Colors headline tour will attest:

“A polished, career-spanning performance…emphasized Beck’s unparalleled stylistic versatility.” —ROLLING STONE

“… left everybody who witnessed it enthralled… Beck, being an entertainer, understands the profundity in getting a crowded room full of people dancing and smiling.”—WASHINGTON POST

“an undeniably fun record…sounded more impressive played by Beck’s unassailable live band… we could use all the slaying we can get from a band as good as the one he’s assembled.”—VARIETY

“Charmingly eclectic… His stage show is magnificent.”—ATLANTA JOURNAL-CONSTITUTION

“Like a Fine Wine, Beck Gets Better with Age… time seemed held at bay.”—DALLAS OBSERVER

“captivating… left no doubt that wherever Beck’s at — whether it’s stadium or theater — is the right place to be.”—OAKLAND PRESS

Beck is also featured on the track “Night Running” from Cage The Elephant’s recently announced fifth studio album, Social Cues, out April 19th via RCA Records.

Austin’s most esteemed rock ambassadors, Spoon, continue their Hot Thoughts victory lap when they hit the road this summer with Beck and Cage The Elephant. The last two years have seen Spoon (“The greatest rock band of the 21st century” –The Ringer) not only release a unanimously celebrated album, but also play revelatory shows at clubs, amphitheaters, festivals, and both daytime and late night television stages.  Hot Thoughts follows Spoon’s streak of three consecutive Top 10 albums—Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga (2007), Transference (2010) and They Want My Soul (2014) — and with it some of the bravest, most sonically inventive work from the most critically acclaimed band of the decade (http://www.metacritic.com/feature/best-music-of-the-decade).

Prior to the start of their co-headline The Night Running Tour, both Beck and Cage The Elephant will be appearing at the Shaky Knees Festival in Atlanta. See all tour dates with confirmed openers for each date below.

BECK: “SUPER COOL” NEW ORIGINAL TRACK OUT TODAY

BECK
“SUPER COOL”
FEATURING THE LONELY ISLAND AND ROBYN
FROM THE LEGO MOVIE 2: THE SECOND PART
NEW ORIGINAL TRACK OUT TODAY
Everything was awesome but now it’s super cool.
Beck has released a super cool new track featuring The Lonely Island and Robyn titled, appropriately enough, “Super Cool.” Recorded exclusively for the upcoming The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part, “Super Cool” is now available outside theaters at: https://lnk.to/lego2Be
“Super Cool” captures the classic groove-infused optimism of the original Lego Movie earworm “Everything Is Awesome” and splashes it with a day-glo coat of Beck’s fluorescent funk—making for a technicolor knockout.
Critics who’ve already gotten a sneak peek of The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part are already raving over “Super Cool”:
“you’ll definitely want to stay for the credits song which, oddly enough, is one of the best parts of the movie”ABC NEWS
“The Lego Movie 2 is never funnier than in the end credits, for which Beck teamed up with The Lonely Island…” —VARIETY
“a contender for funniest end credits song of all-time”GIZMODO
Beck’s “Super Cool” featuring The Lonely Island and Robyn is available across all digital platforms. Please enjoy—but be sure to listen closely or you’ll miss The Lonely Island ingeniously rapping about the film’s credits.
