The thirteen date tour will kick off in Paris on 4th February, before the UK leg culminates with a huge show at London’s Alexandra Palace on 6th March 2020. Tickets go on sale Friday 13th September from 9:00 am.
The seminal British group declared their improbable comeback on Friday night (6th September) in a suitably bold manner, taking to the stage unannounced at Glastonbury Pilton Party to rip through a mesmerizing Greatest Hits set, including Caught By The Fuzz, Moving, Pumping On Your Stereo and Alright.
Danny Goffey says: ‘Everything aligned for us to make this happen for 2020. It was the first time that we collectively felt the buzz to get back in a room together and play the songs. We’re extremely excited to get out there and bring a bit of Supergrass joy to all our fans… and their extended families.’
Tonight Supergrass will also play an intimate show at Oslo, Hackney. Announced on Saturday (7th September) in the aftermath of their electrifying Pilton set, the tiny underplay show sold out in a matter of seconds as fans scrambled for a chance to see the band in the most intimate of confines ahead of 2020’s tour.
A career spanning Best-of package ‘Supergrass: The Strange Ones 1994 – 2008’ is also unveiled today. This comprehensive box set, marking the 25th anniversary of I Should Coco, is a celebration of Supergrass’ incredible career and is released on BMG on 24th January. It contains their 6 original albums on picture disc LP and CD, bonus CDs of unreleased live material, B-sides, remixes, rarities, studio out-takes, demos, acoustic versions, oddities, new mixes, a deluxe book, posters and button badges. It also features over 6 hours of previously unreleased audio material. The boxset contains 5 previously unreleased instant grat tracks. The first, unveiled today is a cover of The Police’s ‘Next To You’, a gloriously kinetic trademark blast of howling vocals, harmonies and raucous guitars.
Formed in Oxford UK in 1993, the Brit, Q, NME and Ivor Novello-winning outfit released their Mercury-nominated No.1 debut album I Should Coco in 1995. Fourth single, ‘Alright’, was a pop masterpiece and became a massive hit, catapulting the band to global success. Supergrass subsequently released another five acclaimed studio albums: In It For The Money (1997), Supergrass (1999), Life On Other Planets (2002), Road To Rouen (2005), Diamond Hoo Ha (2008) as well as top 5 best of, Supergrass Is 10 (2004). Other top 20 singles include: ‘Lenny’, ‘Going Out’, ‘Richard III’, ‘Sun Hits The Sky’, ‘Pumping On Your Stereo’, ‘Moving’ and ‘Grace’. They scored an unbroken run of five Top 10 albums, among them three platinum sellers generating millions of worldwide sales spawning ten Top 20 singles, and scored the biggest-selling debut for Parlophone since The Beatles. Supergrass split in 2010, though the band members have gone on to lead successful solo careers: Gaz Coombes released solo albums ‘Here Come The Bombs’ in 2012, ‘Matador’, 2015 and ‘World’s Strongest Man’, 2018; Mick Quinn has been playing with his own group, DB Band, and been a member of Swervedriver since 2015, and Danny Goffey has released solo material including album ‘Schtick’ in 2018.
Supergrass are Gaz Coombes, Mick Quinn, Danny Goffey, and Rob Coombes. They play the following live dates:

APPEARING SEPTEMBER 11 ON THE TONIGHT SHOW STARRING JIMMY FALLON & IN CONVERSATION WITH JIM JARMUSCH AT 92Y
“Iggy Pop’s ‘Free’ is brief, atmospheric and elusive. Amid sustained electronic tones from the guitarist Noveller and ghostly overdubbed Miles Davis-tinged trumpet lines from Leron Thomas, Pop’s voice appears only a few times, intoning, ‘I wanna be free’… it could lead anywhere.”—THE NEW YORK TIMES
“Free is a liberating collection that unshackles the star from his past and his insecurities, and slowly cracks open a door to version of the future that will inevitably arrive when he’s ready. Wherever that journey takes him in this phase of his career, it’ll be an honour to witness.”—NME
“Pop has delivered one of the most singular and interesting records of his long career.”—CONSEQUENCE OF SOUND
Preceded by its title track, “James Bond” and “Sonali,” Iggy Pop’s new album Free is out now on Loma Vista Recordings.
Iggy will be swinging through New York City the week following Free’s release. On September 11 he will appear on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon accompanied by Free collaborators trumpet player Leron Thomas and guitar player Noveller. That same evening, Iggy will join longtime friend Jim Jarmusch at the 92Y for a wide-ranging conversation on the release of Free. Tickets for the 92Y Talks event are available at https://www.92y.org/event/iggy-pop-and-jim-jarmusch.
While Free follows the highest charting album of Iggy’s career, 2016’s GRAMMY-nominated Post Pop Depression, it has virtually nothing in common sonically with its predecessor—or with any other Iggy Pop album.
“This is an album in which other artists speak for me, but I lend my voice,” Iggy says of Free. “By the end of the tours following Post Pop Depression, I felt sure that I had rid myself of the problem of chronic insecurity that had dogged my life and career for too long. But I also felt drained. And I felt like I wanted to put on shades, turn my back, and walk away. I wanted to be free. I know that’s an illusion, and that freedom is only something you feel, but I have lived my life thus far in the belief that that feeling is all that is worth pursuing; all that you need—not happiness or love necessarily, but the feeling of being free. So this album just kind of happened to me, and I let it happen.”
The track listing for Free is as follows:
1) Free 2) Loves Missing 3) Sonali 4) James Bond 5) Dirty Sanchez 6) Glow In The Dark 7) Page 8) We Are The People 9) Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night 10) The Dawn

Iggy Pop has unveiled the first video from his upcoming album Free, out September 6 on Loma Vista Recordings.
Directed by Simon Taylor, the clip for “James Bond” was shot on location at Sweat Records in Miami.
“James Bond” is the second song to be released in advance of the new album, and has been hailed “infectious” by PASTE and by CONSEQUENCE OF SOUND as “a stylistic shift… magnetic.”
In Iggy’s own words, “James Bond” tells a story:
“I don’t know what she’s up to exactly, but the tables seem to be turning, and she’s taking over. Well, why not? I’ll try anything once.
I’ve never had more fun singing a lyric. Faith’s reading is so loaded, and Leron’s production and trumpet along with the band swings like crazy.”
