TAYLOR HAWKINS & THE COATTAIL RIDERS: ALL-NEW FULL-LENGTH ALBUM OUT NOVEMBER 8 ON SHANABELLE/RCA RECORDS

TAYLOR HAWKINS & THE COATTAIL RIDERS

GET THE MONEY

ALL-NEW FULL-LENGTH ALBUM FEATURING ALL-STAR ROCK ROYALTY SUPPORTING CAST

OUT NOVEMBER 8 ON SHANABELLE/RCA RECORDS

On November 8, Taylor Hawkins will descend from the levitating drum throne on which he’s spent two years on tour supporting Foo Fighters’ international #1 album Concrete and Gold. The forthcoming third Taylor Hawkins and the Coattail Riders album, Get The Money, will be released by Shanabelle/RCA Records on that date, and can be pre-ordered now with all pre-orders receiving the instant grat track “Crossed The Line” (featuring guest turns from Hawkins’ bandmate Dave Grohl and Yes vocalist Jon Davison).

Pre-Order Get The Money here. Listen to “Crossed The Line” here. Exclusive Merch bundles are also be available here.

Produced by John Lousteau and Taylor himself, and mixed by Sylvia Massy, Get The Money follows Taylor’s 2016 six-song mini-LP KOTA by three years almost to the day, and features a scope far wider than KOTA’s takes on suburbia’s bizarro underbelly. The new album finds Taylor and Coattail Riders Chris Chaney, Brent Woods and John Lousteau accompanied by an all-star supporting cast including Taylor’s fellow Foo Fighters Dave Grohl and Pat Smear, Roger Taylor, Joe Walsh, Duff McKagan, Nancy Wilson, Chrissie Hynde, Perry Farrell, LeAnn Rimes and more, collectively creating a staggering, epic sprawl that swerves from classic rock to prog and glam and all points between.

The track listing for Get The Money is:

  1. Crossed the Line (featuring Dave Grohl, Jon Davison)
  2. Don’t Look At Me That Way (featuring Duff McKagan, Nancy Wilson)
  3. You’re No Good at Life No More (featuring Dave Grohl)
  4. I Really Blew It (featuring Dave Grohl, Perry Farrell)
  5. Queen Of The Clowns  (featuring Mark King)
  6. Get the Money (featuring Joe Walsh, Chrissie Hynde, Duff McKagan)
  7. C U in Hell (featuring LeAnn Rimes)
  8. Middle Child (featuring Dave Grohl)
  9. Kiss the Ring
  10. Shapes Of Things (featuring Roger Taylor, Pat Smear, Steve Jones, Gannin Arnold)

Since the Texas-born Laguna-bred force of nature made his Foo Fighting debut on the tour supporting 1997’s sophomore opus The Colour and the Shape, he has been an essential element of the sound and personality of the last great American arena/stadium rock band.  He’s played on Grammy-winning FF albums including There Is Nothing Left To LoseOne by One and Wasting Light, and contributed lead vocals to Concrete and Gold’s “Sunday Rain,” as well as “Cold Day In The Sun” from 2005’s In Your Honor. Taylor’s previous extracurricular output includes two albums from Taylor Hawkins and the Coattail Riders, one with The Birds of Satan, the above-mentioned KOTA mini-LP that featured Hawkins on lead vocals and nearly every instrument.

THOM YORKE: TOMORROW’S MODERN BOXES TOUR EXTENDED INTO 2020

THOM YORKE
TOMORROW’S MODERN BOXES TOUR EXTENDED INTO 2020
TICKETS ON SALE OCTOBER 18

ANIMA Out Now on XL Recordings
Appearing on JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE! Tuesday, October 15

Thom Yorke has extended Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes—the touring entity comprised of Thom, Nigel Godrich and visual artist Tarik Barri—to include new dates across the U.S., UK and Europe beginning March 28 and running through July 13, 2020.

Currently playing in the U.S. through its October 29-30 two-night stand at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes features the trio of  Thom, Nigel and Tarik performing songs spanning Thom’s solo works, including The Eraser, Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes, Atoms For Peace’s Amok, and of course his recently released ANIMA.

Additionally, ANIMA material will receive its first U.S. network television airing tomorrow night when Thom makes his debut appearance on JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE!.

ANIMA was released June 27, accompanied by a Paul Thomas Anderson-directed “one-reeler,” also titled ANIMA, exclusively viewable on Netflix. Both the album and the short film set to three of its songs have received overwhelmingly positive response, including The New York Times noting both the album’s “subtle, complex, changeable layerings and richly shadowy sounds” and praising the film as “elusive, dreamlike and worthy of its leading man: a singer who knows how to move.” Featuring several songs debuted live over the course of previous Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes performances, ANIMAwas written by Yorke, produced by Godrich and features the London Contemporary Orchestra on all nine tracks.

Reaction to the first few Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes U.S. performances in the wake of ANIMA’s release has been borderline ecstatic. Stereogum raved, “Complex programmed beats plus heavy rhythmic guitar and bass work added up to a powerful launchpad for Yorke’s one-of-a-kind voice, which performed its usual heavenly acrobatics Monday. What often scans as textural on record was much more visceral on stage… this was not a chin-stroking intellectual exercise. Yorke and company were putting on a goddamn show,” while the Columbus Dispatch described TMB as “an immensely effective immersive experience” and Pittsburgh Music Magazine praised the show’s “rave-like atmosphere with visuals that were stunning, dizzying, and dreamlike.”

IGGY POP “LOVES MISSING” VIDEO PREMIERE

IGGY POP

“LOVES MISSING” VIDEO PREMIERE LIVE NOW

FREE OUT NOW ON LOMA VISTA RECORDINGS

On the sparse, measured ‘Loves Missing,’ he sings, ‘Loves screaming, loves missing,’ and you can feel his pain” Rolling Stone

Following his electrifying performance of “James Bond” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and fascinating conversation with Jim Jarmusch at 92Y, Iggy Pop has now unveiled the video for “Loves Missing” from his new album Free, viewable now at: https://found.ee/LovesMissingVid

Directed by Simon Taylor, the clip for “Loves Missing” was shot on location at Sweat Records in Miami with a special appearance by Ale Campos from Las Nubes, Miami. Like the song itself, the “Loves Missing” video reveals another dimension of what it means to be Free, putting a visual face to raw emotions laid bare via close-ups of Iggy intoning, “She’s thinking about something we all need/All need/Clock’s ticking, not giving her room to breathe/To breathe/Loves screaming/Loves missing/Loves screaming, so quietly and in pain/Loves absent, it’s failing her once again, again.”

Free was released September 6 by Loma Vista Recordings. Featuring collaborators Leron Thomas (trumpet/keys/songwriting) and Noveller (guitar/vocals), the album holds a singular place in Iggy’s canon—and continues to generate appropriately unique praise: The New York Times called the title track “atmospheric and elusive” and more recently praised “Sonali” as “a rushing, fluttering, quasi-waltz that hurries toward an undisclosed destination, whimsical but driven.”Rolling Stone lauded the album’s “certain restrained swagger. The guitars simmer, never boil. The bass swells, and the keyboards shimmer behind him. And all the while, Pop flexes his baritone, expressing himself more clearly than perhaps ever before.” And the Washington Post noted “Iggy haunts these new songs like a dignified spirit — which might make Free an exposition on death, or transcendence, or both.”

BROKEN BELLS: “GOOD LUCK”

BROKEN BELLS

“GOOD LUCK” – NEW SONG AVAILABLE NOW

JAMES MERCER & DANGER MOUSE AT WORK ON THIRD BROKEN BELLS ALBUM

Brian Burton (aka Danger Mouse) and James Mercer (of The Shins), collectively known as Broken Bells, have released their newest song “Good Luck.” The song is available now for purchase and streaming across all platforms through Danger Mouse’s 30th Century Records, via AWAL.

Much like last year’s “as adventurous as always” (Stereogumstandalone single “Shelter,” “Good Luck” bears the unmistakable sonic signature of Broken Bells unveiled on 2010’s eponymous debut and 2014’s After The Disco—in other words, the instantly recognizable audible fingerprints of both Mercer and Burton melded into something entirely other. As with neo-classic Broken Bells tracks including “The High Road” and “Holding On For Life,” “Good Luck” is completed by deceptively apocalyptic sonic and lyrical imagery that is actually more rooted in present day reality than any dystopian future.

In other news, it can now be confirmed that Mercer and Burton have reconvened in the studio and are hard at work on a third Broken Bells album.  No release date has been set for this first collection of new Broken Bells material since 2014.

Contacted for comment, Broken Bells replied collectively:
“As with ‘Shelter,’ we wanted to release ‘Good Luck’ while it felt timely and reflective of specific discussions between the two of us, questioning the state of things, as we do…

Both of us are constantly working on music at any given time, yet we always drift back to one another as Broken Bells. When it happens naturally, it happens—and right now it’s happened in the form of writing and recording sessions for the third Broken Bells album.”

“One of the project’s most impressive lineup of players”  —THE NEW YORK TIMES

Ending a 16-year hiatus since its last installment, the most mythical, longest running rock n roll mixtape odyssey in existence, Desert Sessions will return this October with the most ambitious entries yet in its expansive and elusive catalog: Vols. 11 & 12 (a/k/a respectively as Arrivederci Despair and Tightwads & Nitwits & Critics & Heels) will be released October 25th on Matador Records. A limited edition first vinyl pressing will include a one of a kind custom mix & match body swap booklet. Exclusive merchandise bundles are available for pre-order now at: https://desertsessions.ffm.to/vols11and12

Vols. 11 & 12 were recorded mostly in a six-day span in December 2018 at Rancho De La Luna studios in Joshua Tree, CA, with Queens of the Stone Age founder and Desert Sessions ringleader/producer Joshua Homme enlisting a cast of players including:

Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top)
Stella Mozgawa (Warpaint)
Jake Shears (Scissor Sisters)
Mike Kerr (Royal Blood)
Carla Azar (Autolux, Jack White)
Les Claypool (Primus)
Matt Sweeney (Chavez, Superwolf, Endless Boogie)
Matt Berry (What We Do in the Shadows, Toast of London)
Libby Grace
Töôrnst Hülpft

The results are eight new songs that embody the legacy of freedom from expectations and inhibitions that stretches back to 1997, when Homme led a first retreat to the Joshua Tree desert. What began as a casual writing and recording session amongst friends—isolated from daily distractions and comforts—has since become a possibly infinite body of work. Now spanning 12 volumes over the course of two decades (and a total of two documented live performances), The Desert Sessions has featured some of music’s most cherished icons—past players have included Polly Harvey, Mark Lanegan, Josh Freese, Dean Ween, among many others—deliberately removing themselves from their comfort zones and working together to create some of their most relaxed yet challenging work.

For a glimpse into the various players’ reactions to the completed work, check out a Liam Lynch-directed exclusive video interview with Homme at: https://desertsessions.ffm.to/voicemails.

The tracklist for Desert Sessions Vols. 11 & 12 (a/k/a Arrivederci Despair and Tightwads & Nitwits & Critics & Heels) is:

Move Together (lead vocal: Billy F. Gibbons)
Noses in Roses Forever (lead vocal: Joshua Homme)
Far East for the Trees
If You Run (lead vocal: Libby Grace)
Crucifire (lead vocal: Mike Kerr)
Chic Tweetz (vocals: Töôrnst Hülpft, Matt Berry)
Something You Can’t See (lead vocal: Jake Shears)
Easier Said Than Done (lead vocal: Joshua Homme)

CONVERSATIONS WITH NICK CAVE

An Evening of Talk and Music

NORTH AMERICAN DATES BEGIN THIS FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 20th

Following a short debut run on the east coast early last year, Nick Cave brings his evenings of talk and music back to North America for a full tour.

Having recently taken this special show to sold out venues across the world, Cave returns to North America this week. During this series of music and open discussion events, he will take questions direct from the audience on all manner of subjects and perform some of his most beloved songs on piano.

Described by Cave as “an exercise in connectivity”, no subject is sacred and audiences are encouraged to be bold and challenging, confrontational and unafraid.

The relationship between Cave and his audience has always been open and intense, but deepened during his recent shows with the Bad Seeds, inspiring these unconventional and unique evenings of unfiltered, unscripted and unmoderated Q&A. “I thought that a direct conversation with the audience might be valuable – in the recent live shows we have all shown a kind of willingness to open up.”  – Nick Cave

“Between stark, gorgeous performances of key songs like ‘Skeleton Tree’, ‘The Mercy Seat’ and ‘God Is In The House’, Cave was wry, genial and funny as hell.”  Billboard

“This is a striking turnaround when you’re used to seeing icons in all their bombast and mythos. Here, you are getting them unmediated by journalists, you are getting them in an unfiltered and unedited form, you are getting them in a human state without the guise of stardom in full-force.”  Stereogum

“Watching a legend in command of an audience, never quite knowing what would happen next, was a genuine thrill.”  Sydney Morning Herald

NEW LINDEMANN ALBUM “F & M” OUT NOVEMBER 22 ON CAROLINE

RAMMSTEIN SINGER TILL LINDEMANN
AND PETER TÄGTGREN (PAIN, HYPOCRISY) SET TO RELEASE
THE NEW LINDEMANN ALBUM “F & M”
ON NOVEMBER 22nd

FIRST SINGLE “STEH AUF” OUT NOW

© Jens Koch

LINDEMANN, the second coming: the German-Swedish power duo Till Lindemann (Rammstein frontman) and Peter Tägtgren (mastermind behind legendary metal bands Pain and Hypocrisy) are set to unleash the second LINDEMANN album on the 22nd of November. In this renewed collaboration, the duo takes some unfamiliar and sometimes unexpected paths.

Their first common effort “Skills In Pills“ reached Gold status in Germany and was entirely in English. On this second opus the rules have changed: German lyrics sung by Till Lindemann’s unmistakable voice are set in an intense and unique musical composition.

The starting point of these new LINDEMANN songs was a collaboration between Till Lindemann and the Hamburg Thalia Theater in the context of a modern adaptation of the Brothers Grimm fairy tale “Hänsel & Gretel”, which addresses topics such as fear, hope, poverty, abundance, cannibalism or death.

Five songs from this critically-acclaimed play have been supplemented with six brand new masterpieces to form the impressive new studio work from LINDEMANN.

The first single “Steh auf” was released on Friday, September 13th. The video for this spellbinding song was created by the renowned music video director Zoran Bihac (who worked on previous RAMMSTEIN and LINDEMANN videos). The film was shot in Kazakhstan and one of the main characters is played by a fellow countryman Tägtgrens, the Hollywood star Peter Stormare (“Fargo”).

The album “F & M“ contains 11 tracks and will be released on the following formats:

– Standard Edition (6-panel digipack)
– Special Edition (deluxe hardcover book)
