METALLICA CELEBRATES TURNING 40 WITH TWO UNIQUE SHOWS IN SAN FRANCISCO DECEMBER 2021

METALLICA TURNS 40

DECEMBER 17 & 19 AT CHASE CENTER IN SAN FRANCISCO

TICKETS AVAILABLE ONLY TO FIFTH MEMBERS

Metallica has announced details of its massive 40th birthday celebration: The band will mark this milestone by inviting the worldwide Metallica Family to join them in their hometown of San Francisco for two unique live shows featuring two different setlists December 17 and 19 at Chase Center. Tickets for these shows will be available only to registered members of Metallica’s Fifth Member fan club (more details below).

The 40th anniversary shows see Metallica return to Chase Center for the first time since the September 2019 S&M2 concerts that also served as the venue’s grand opening. It was impossible not to notice that fans from more than 60 countries traveled to the City by the Bay and completely took over San Francisco for S&M2 weekend. That outpouring of positive vibes from around the world inspired Metallica to invite those Fifth Members back—and this time, in addition to the two shows at Chase Center, Metallica will be curating other live music and comedy events, Blackened Whiskey tastings, and so much more all around the city during the long four-day weekend of celebrations starting on Thursday, December 16. Details and ticketing information for these various events will be announced as they are confirmed.

Tickets for the December 17 and 19 Chase Center shows will be available only to registered Fifth Members. In an effort to make it as fair as possible for every member who would like to attend, Fifth Members are invited to enter to win a reservation code that will guarantee them the opportunity to purchase tickets.  Reservation winners will be chosen randomly and e-mailed additional information and directions to proceed with purchase.

Winners will have the option to choose from two-day tickets to gain entry to both Metallica shows at the Chase Center or single day tickets for the show on either December 17 or December 19. Travel packages that include both tickets and hotel accommodations will also be available at www.metallicatravel.com. All members will be limited to a maximum purchase of two show tickets or one hotel/ticket package (package options include either two or four tickets).

Out now via Loma Vista Recordings, Daddy’s Home was produced by Annie Clark and Jack Antonoff, recorded by Laura Sisk, mixed by Cian Riordan, and mastered by Chris Gehringer. The music was performed by Annie, Jack, Cian, Thomas, Evan Smith, Sam KS, Greg Leisz, Daniel Hart, Michael Leonhart, Lynne Fiddmont and Kenya Hathaway.

ABOUT ST. VINCENT
Annie Clark made her recorded debut as St. Vincent in 2007 with Marry Me, quickly becoming regarded as one of the most innovative and fascinating presences in modern music. Each of St. Vincent’s subsequent albums has met with critical acclaim and commercial success eclipsing that of its predecessor. These albums would include Actor (2009), Strange Mercy (2011), and her self-titled fourth album and winner of the 2014 GRAMMY for Best Alternative Album, making her only the second female artist ever to win in that category. In addition to these solo works, St. Vincent joined with David Byrne to record and release the collaborative album Love This Giant in 2012, and performed with Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear of Nirvana at the band’s 2014 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In 2017, working with co-producer Jack Antonoff, St. Vincent created a defining statement with MASSEDUCTION. The album broke St. Vincent into the U.S. and UK top 10s while landing atop Best of 2017 lists of The New York Times, The Guardian, AV Club, Billboard, Entertainment Weekly, NME, Q, USA Today, and more—not to mention winning two GRAMMYs (Best Rock Song for its title track, and Best Recording Package). Most recently, St. Vincent channeled the hungover glamor and gritty sepia-toned soundtrack of 1970s downtown NYC into the triumphant Daddy’s Home, released in May 2021 to near universal acclaim. In a glowing five-star review of the album, Mojo Magazine said “It’s masterful stuff: a full conceptual realization, filled with great melodies, deep grooves, colourful characterisations, and some sonic detail that reveals itself over repeated plays.” Outside of recording and performing, St. Vincent has directed the short horror film The Birthday Party, and co-written and starred as a fictionalized version of herself in the upcoming film The Nowhere Inn.

LCD SOUNDSYSTEM: 10th ANNIVERSARY 5LP VINYL BOX SET REPRESS OF LIVE AT MADISON SQUARE GARDEN

THE LONG GOODBYE: LCD SOUNDSYSTEM LIVE AT MADISON SQUARE GARDEN

10th ANNIVERSARY REPRESS OF 5LP VINYL BOX SET
ON 3CD FOR THE FIRST TIME

OUT AUGUST 6TH, 2021
PRE-ORDER HERE

The 10th anniversary of a milestone in the history of LCD Soundsystem will arrive August 6th, when DFA Records partners with Parlophone / Warner Music to repress the long out-of-print The Long Goodbye: LCD Soundsystem Live At Madison Square Garden, a 5-LP vinyl unabridged recording of LCD Soundsystem’s near four-hour April 2, 2011 show at New York’s Madison Square Garden. The colossal show is also celebrated on 3CD for the very first time.

Produced and mixed by LCD founder and frontman James Murphy, The Long Goodbye is the ultimate audio document of LCD Soundsystem’s legendary — if not quite final — sold-out Madison Square Garden performance.

Hailed by New York magazine as “a marvel of pure craft” and Rolling Stone as a “staggeringly great night,” The Long Goodbye show was the lengthiest, most career-spanning LCD Soundsystem has played to date. The album finds the LCD core live band of Murphy, Pat Mahoney, Nancy Whang, Al Doyle, Gavilán Rayna Russom and Tyler Pope joined by a choir, string and horn sections — plus special guest performances including Win Butler and Regine Chassagne of Arcade Fire, Reggie Watts, the Juan MacLean, Shit Robot, Planningtorock, and Shannon Funchess of Light Asylum.

The Long Goodbye: LCD Soundsystem Live At Madison Square Garden is an essential document of a singular moment in the history of LCD Soundsystem and New York City’s musical life. The full tracklist is:

Second Solo Album Out November 12th 2021
On Transgressive Records

THE NEARER THE FOUNTAIN,
MORE PURE THE STREAM FLOWS

LISTEN TO THE TITLE TRACK HERE

Polaris, the lead track and accompanying live performance film from Damon Albarn’s forthcoming new album The Nearer The Fountain, More Pure The Stream Flows, is released today. Listen + see here.

Polaris follows the earlier release of the haunting title track and, with its infectious choral melody, addresses the guiding star needed for lives blown off course as so many have been during this last year.

To accompany the song’s release, the first in a series of special, cinematic films entitled ‘Sublime Boulevards – Performance Films’ launches today on YouTube. Featuring a performance by Albarn with a full live band alongside a string quartet, captured in black and white, the film series is directed by Transgressive Records founder Toby L and will accompany a selection of the album’s material.

The Nearer The Fountain, More Pure The Stream Flows is the new studio album from Damon Albarn, out November 12th 2021 on Transgressive Records. Originally intended as an orchestral piece inspired by the landscapes of Iceland, 2020 saw Albarn return to the music in lockdown and develop the work to 11 tracks which further explore themes of fragility, loss, emergence and rebirth. The result is a panoramic collection of songs with Albarn as storyteller. The album title is taken from a John Clare poem Love and Memory

In a career of perpetual musical shifts and exploration, the record uncovers more ground, finding expansive orchestral arrangements nestling with intimate melodies, discordance brushing up against infectious majesty, all set to some of Albarn’s most arresting vocal performances to date. Much like the beauty and chaos of the natural world it soundtracks, The Nearer The Fountain, More Pure The Stream Flows vividly documents the emotional ebb and flow of the human condition, in all its extremes, serving as a soul enriching document for our times.

The tracklisting for The Nearer The Fountain, More Pure The Stream Flows is:

  1. The Nearer The Fountain, More Pure The Stream Flows
  2. The Cormorant
  3. Royal Morning Blue
  4. Combustion
  5. Daft Wader
  6. Darkness To Light
  7. Esja
  8. The Tower Of Montevideo
  9. Giraffe Trumpet Sea
  10. Polaris
  11. Particles

Alongside a digital release, there will be limited edition vinyl formats, plus CD and cassette. There will also be a deluxe version of the album, taking the form of a casebound book with additional photography, original scanned lyrics and artwork from Damon, alongside a white vinyl version of the album, a high quality digital file and a bonus 7” featuring an exclusive song from the recording sessions.

Albarn debuted a set of songs from the album as part of the Live At Worthy Farm event in Glastonbury last month. And this summer, accompanied by a band and string section, Albarn will perform a number of UK festival shows to play tracks from across his songbook, including the new album, on 12th and 13th July at Manchester International Festival and Edinburgh International Festival on 24th August.
