Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds today release B-Sides & Rarities Part II, the long-anticipated follow up to 2005’s B-Sides & Rarities, on double vinyl, double CD, deluxe double CD and all digital platforms.
B-Sides & Rarities Part I and Part II is released together as a Limited Edition Deluxe 7 Vinyl Box Set including 83 rare tracks and exclusive sleeve notes.
B-Sides & Rarities Part II was compiled by Nick Cave and Warren Ellis, and contains 27 rare and unreleased tracks from 2006-2020, including the first recordings of ‘Skeleton Tree’, ‘Girl In Amber’ and ‘Bright Horses’.
The original B-Sides & Rarities Part I was released in 2005 – compiled by Mick Harvey it comprises 56 tracks including rarities, outtakes, covers and B-sides from 1988-2005. This is the first time the album is available on vinyl.
“I always liked the original B-Sides & Rarities more than any of our other albums. It’s the only one I’d listen to willingly. It seems more relaxed, even a bit nonsensical in places, but with some beautiful songs throughout. There is something, too, about the smallness of certain songs that is closer to their original spirit.
B-Sides & Rarities Part II continues this strange and beautiful collection of lost songs from The Bad Seeds. I love the final side of the last disc because it reveals the small and fragile beginnings of some of my favorite Bad Seeds songs. ‘Waiting For You’ complete with bizarre ‘canning factory’ rhythm track, a gorgeous ‘Life Per Se’ deemed too sad for Skeleton Tree, and ‘Earthlings’ that some consider the finest track of the Ghosteen sessions.”– Nick Cave
In the build up to release, the band shared 3 unreleased tracks.
Previously unreleased song ‘Vortex’was written and recorded in 2006 by Nick Cave, Warren Ellis, Martyn Casey and Jim Sclavunos.
Another unheard track, ‘Earthlings’ originated in the 2018/2019 sessions that became the acclaimed album ‘Ghosteen’.
‘Push The Sky Away’, the title track to the 2013 album of the same name was performed as part of ‘Film Music – Nick Cave & Warren Ellis’ at Hamer Hall in Melbourne in 2019, with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.
To celebrate the release, two new audio conversations will be released on YouTube between Nick Cave & Mick Harvey and Nick and Warren Ellis.

The Tower Of Montevideo is the new track from Damon Albarn, out today. Inspired by Palacio Salvo, an iconic 1920s building in Uruguay, it explores Albarn’s melancholic wonder at this part of South America, where Rio De La Plata meets the South Atlantic, a place he has described as both “familiar and utterly otherworldly.” Listen here.
To accompany the song’s release, a new special, cinematic performance film from a series entitled ‘Sublime Boulevards – Performance Films’ is available today on YouTube. Watch here.
The Nearer The Fountain, More Pure The Stream Flows is the new studio album from Damon Albarn, out 12th November 2021 on Transgressive Records. Originally intended as an orchestral piece inspired by the landscapes of Iceland, 2020 saw Albarn return to the music in lockdown and develop the work to 11 tracks which further explore themes of fragility, loss, emergence and rebirth. The result is a panoramic collection of songs with Albarn as storyteller. The album title is taken from a John Clare poem Love and Memory.
In a career of perpetual musical shifts and exploration, the record uncovers more ground, finding expansive orchestral arrangements nestling with intimate melodies, discordance brushing up against infectious majesty, all set to some of Albarn’s most arresting vocal performances to date. Much like the beauty and chaos of the natural world it soundtracks, The Nearer The Fountain, More Pure The Stream Flows vividly documents the emotional ebb and flow of the human condition, in all its extremes, serving as a soul enriching document for our times.
The tracklisting for The Nearer The Fountain, More Pure The Stream Flows is:
The Nearer The Fountain, More Pure The Stream Flows
The Cormorant
Royal Morning Blue
Combustion
Daft Wader
Darkness To Light
Esja
The Tower Of Montevideo
Giraffe Trumpet Sea

There will also be a super deluxe version of the album, taking the form of a casebound book with additional photography, original scanned lyrics and artwork from Damon, alongside a white vinyl version of the album, a high quality digital file and a bonus 7” featuring an exclusive song from the recording sessions.

Today they share a previously unavailable live version of ‘Push The Sky Away’, the title track to the 2013 album of the same name. It was performed as part of ‘Film Music – Nick Cave & Warren Ellis’ at Hamer Hall in Melbourne in 2019, with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. The acclaimed performance of selections from Nick and Warren’s film soundtrack collaborations featured ‘Push The Sky Away’ during the encore. Both artists rank that night as a career high.

Previously unreleased song ‘Vortex’ is available to stream now. Taken from B-Sides & Rarities Part II, it was written and recorded in 2006 by Nick Cave, Warren Ellis, Martyn Casey and Jim Sclavunos. ‘Earthlings is the missing link that binds Ghosteen together. A lovely song that just got away…’Nick Cave

THE STORYTELLER Tales of Life and Music by Dave Grohl
*On Sale: October 5, 2021*
EARLY PRAISE FOR THE STORYTELLER:
“Grohl candidly shares his reverence for the enduring power of music…Reflecting on his fame, Grohl writes, ‘I have never taken a single moment of it for granted.’ Paired with his sparkling wit, this humility is what makes Grohl’s soulful story a cut above typical rock memoirs. There isn’t a dull moment here.” ─ Publishers Weekly, starred review
“Nirvana drummer and Foo Fighters frontman Grohl joyfully recounts his life in this memoir…Grohl bares his soul and shares his passion in this must-read memoir, which will resonate with music lovers and his fans.” ─ Library Journal, starred review
“Kinetic…Grohl writes with equal fervor about his path from ‘that guy from Nirvana’ to the leader of the uber famous Foo Fighters and his parenting experiences. An exciting read for fans and a remarkable perspective on the last 30 years of rock music.” ─ Booklist
Dey Street Books is thrilled to publish THE STORYTELLER by Grammy-winning musician, documentary filmmaker, and debut author Dave Grohl.
Dave Grohl has been one of the most beloved and respected figures on the international music scene since his recorded debut with Nirvana on 1991’s generation-defining Nevermind. Grohl took center stage with Foo Fighters’ 1995 self titled debut, the first of 10 albums in a massive 12-Grammy winning streak, most recently including the #1 album sales charting Medicine at Midnight. For more than three decades, Grohl has travelled the planet doing the thing he loves most playing rock n roll marathons for tens of thousands of ecstatic Foo Fighters fans. But when the pandemic necessitated going into lockdown, he took stock of how he might use this moment of pause. Channeling his creativity into writing and using his remarkable skill for storytelling, Grohl’s Instagram account @davestruestories was born. This new platform became a way for Dave to share his extraordinary stories with fans and fellow music nuts and now, he has written his first book.
THE STORYTELLER has finally provided Dave with the opportunity to shed some light on the fascinating life he has led while living out his dreams. From teaching himself to drum on pillows to leaving high school to tour European clubs and squats at 18 years old, his years in Nirvana and decades in Foo Fighters, playing with Tom Petty on Saturday Night Live, jamming with Iggy Pop, swing dancing with AC/DC and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, having Paul McCartney over for a visit, bedtime stories with Joan Jett or a chance meeting with Little Richard, to the simple pleasures of family life…Dave shares his amazing world with readers while poignantly touching on the impact that his friends, bandmates, and family have had on him throughout the years.
THE STORYTELLER is as much a celebration of music as it is about the moments that have molded Dave into the man he is today. Dave says that every day is a blank page, waiting to write itself. THE STORYTELLER proves him a natural writer, with a life worthy of the 400 pages that make up this very special book. We are eager to share this book with fans and readers, and we can’t wait for this next chapter of Dave’s life, as an author, to begin. “Since I was a child, I have always measured my life in musical increments rather than months or years. My mind faithfully relies on songs, albums, and bands to remember a particular time and place. From seventies AM radio to every microphone I’ve stood before, I could tell you who, what, where, and when from the first few notes of any song that has crept from a speaker to my soul. Or from my soul to your speakers. Some people’s reminiscence is triggered by taste, some people’s by sight or smell. Mine is triggered by sound, playing like an unfinished mixtape to be sent. Though I have never been one to collect ‘stuff,’ I do collect moments. So, in that respect, my life flashes before my eyes through my ears every single day. In this book, I’ve captured some of them, as best I can. These memories, from all over my life, are full of music, of course. And they can be loud at times. Turn it up. Listen with me.” ─ Dave Grohl from the Introduction of The Storyteller
ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
DAVE GROHL, a 16-time Grammy-winning musician and 2-time Emmy-winning director, has been one of the most beloved and respected figures on the international music scene since his recorded debut with Nirvana on 1991’s generation-defining Nevermind. Grohl took center stage with Foo Fighters’ 1995 self titled debut, the first album in massive 12-Grammy-winning catalogue that now includes The Colour & The Shape (1997), There Is Nothing Left To Lose (1999), One By One (2002), In Your Honor (2005), Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace (2007), Wasting Light (2011), Sonic Highways (2014), Concrete and Gold (2017) and, most recently, Medicine at Midnight (2021).
Grohl has a well-earned reputation as a prolific collaborator: His various endeavors have included “Cut Me Some Slack,” written and recorded with Paul McCartney and Grohl’s Nirvana bandmates Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear; Them Crooked Vultures, formed with Led Zeppelin’s John Paul Jones and Queens of the Stone Age’s Joshua Homme, late legends David Bowie and Lemmy Kilmister of Motorhead, as well as Mick Jagger, Neil Young, Elton John, Nine Inch Nails, Roger Taylor and Brian May of Queen, to name a few. In 2013, Grohl made his debut as a feature director/producer with the acclaimed documentary Sound City. Named for the Van Nuys CA studio where Nirvana recorded Nevermind in 1991, which would sell more than 30 million copies and transform the modern musical landscape. Premiering to unanimous raves at Sundance and achieving a 100% Rotten Tomatoes rating, Sound City focused both on the history of the legendary studio and on the ongoing fight to preserve the human element of music. Hailed by Peter Travers of Rolling Stone as an “exhilarating documentary about what makes life worth living,” by The New York Times as “candy to several generations’ worth of rock fans” and NPR as “a celebration of just how unbelievably awesome it is to make rock music for a living,” Sound City has since been certified as a Gold Longform Video by the RIAA, while the Sound City—Real To Reel companion album took the 2013 Grammys for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media and Best Rock Song (“Cut Me Some Slack”).
Grohl also directed the eight-part HBO docuseries Foo Fighters: Sonic Highways, which premiered in October 2014 and went on to win two of the four Emmys for which it was nominated (outstanding sound mixing for nonfiction programming and outstanding sound editing for nonfiction programming). Described by Grohl as a love letter to the history of American music, Sonic Highways was comprised of eight one-hour episodes, each chronicling the creation of one song on Foo Fighters’ Sonic Highways album, each written and recorded in a different American musical landmark — Austin, Chicago, Los Angeles, Nashville, New Orleans, New York, Seattle, and Washington, D.C.

First New GHOST Track In 2 Years To Be Featured In HALLOWEEN KILLS
2022 U.S Arena Tour Tickets On Sale Now
A series of inspired encounters between creative forces from various worlds of sound and vision has resulted in “Hunter’s Moon,” the infectious first new track from GHOST since 2019’s Seven Inches Of Satanic Panic, and its phantasmagoric video directed by Amanda Demme.
The genesis of “Hunter’s Moon” can be traced back to GHOST’s November 16, 2018 show at the Forum in Los Angeles. Ryan Turek, Vice President of Feature Film Development at Blumhouse Productions (Get Out, Insidious, The Purge, Us, Whiplash) attended the sold-out show, striking up an instant rapport with GHOST’s Tobias Forge — one that developed quickly and deeply via meetings, podcast appearances, and ultimately a visit with co-writer and director David Gordon Green on the North Carolina set of the upcoming Halloween Kills.

“[Royal Morning Blue]…a standout track on the forthcoming album” – The Guardian
Royal Morning Blue is out today. The latest track from Damon Albarn’s new solo album The Nearer The Fountain, More Pure The Stream Flows was written and recorded in Iceland. Directly inspired by the view from Albarn’s position at the piano looking out over the sea, it captures the wonder of rain turning into snow before his eyes. Listen here.
Albarn said – “That’s why the song opens with ‘Rain turning into snow,’ because it’s that moment, that feeling. In all the darkness that we have experienced, that was such a beautiful, positive thing.”
To accompany the song’s release, a new special, cinematic film from a series entitled ‘Sublime Boulevards – Performance Films’ is available today on YouTube. Watch here.
Also announced today, a limited edition CD format which will include a new 20-min piece Huldufólk written by Albarn and Einar Örn Benediktsson (The Sugarcubes). Pre order here.
Following two acclaimed festival shows in Manchester and Edinburgh this summer, as well as special guest appearances at Latitude and End of the Road, Albarn took to the stage for a very special one-off show at The Globe earlier this week, which was broadcast live to fans all over the world. Full tour itinerary below.

Alongside a digital release, there will be limited edition vinyl formats, plus CD and cassette, with the CD edition including ‘Huldufólk’ a 20-minute “hidden” track of a new and original recording that inspired some of the record’s themes. There will also be a super deluxe version of the album, taking the form of a casebound book with additional photography, original scanned lyrics and artwork from Damon, alongside a white vinyl version of the album, a high quality digital file and a bonus 7” featuring an exclusive song from the recording sessions.
