RAMMSTEIN: NEW ALBUM, ZEIT, OUT APRIL 29th

RAMMSTEIN

ZEIT

Rammstein’s new album Zeit will be released on April 29, 2022. Exactly three years after their untitled multi-platinum album, one of the most globally successful German bands of all time is releasing a follow-up!

The first single to be released by Rammstein today, March 10, 2022, is the title track “Zeit”, a powerful ballad that builds to a towering epic.

The video will have its world premiere at the same time on the band’s official YouTube channel.

Rumors have been buzzing around, now it’s official: Rammstein’s new album Zeit will be released on April 29, 2022. The eighth album from the Berlin musicians follows the untitled number one album that shot the band straight to the top of 14 international charts in 2019, after the longest break between albums of their career to date.

Till Lindemann (vocals), Paul Landers (guitar), Richard Z. Kruspe (guitar), Flake (keyboards), Oliver Riedel (bass) and Christoph Schneider (drums) spent two years working on the eleven songs on the new album. They were once again assisted by Berlin producer Olsen Involtini. Zeit was recorded at La Fabrique Studios in St. Rémy de Provence, France.

Bryan Adams managed to get a special scoop for the cover of the new album – the Canadian musician and photographer took the shot of Rammstein on the steps of the Trudelturm in Berlin Adlershof, an imposing monument to aerial research in the city’s Aerodynamic Park.

Today the eponymous first single is released as a 10” gatefold black vinyl, on CD digipack and in digital format. The video will have its world premiere on the band’s official YouTube channel. The spectacular video was directed by actor and musician Robert Gwisdek, collaborating here with the band for the first time.

Till Lindemann’s commanding baritone resonates over solemn piano chords and an angelic chorus of sirens. The song deals with transience, our mortality and the precious, fleeting happiness of the perfect moment. “Time, please stand still, stand still,” Lindemann laments and implores. “Time, this should always go on so/Time, it’s so beautiful, so beautiful/Anyone knows the perfect moment.”

After an epic like this, you need a moment’s rest, and Rammstein give it to us. Fans can look forward to a total of three versions of “Zeit.”

For the B-sides, the band is releasing a meditative, atmospheric neoclassical arrangement by Grammy-nominated Icelandic multi-instrumentalist Ólafur Arnalds, as well as a remix by electro producer Robot Koch.

Over the course of a career spanning almost 30 years, Rammstein have sold more than 20 million albums around the world and played countless spectacular, groundbreaking tours. When the band’s sold-out stadium tour had to be postponed due to the pandemic, Rammstein used the time to work on their new album.

Rammstein fans can look forward to multiple Zeit formats on 29 April – the new album will be released as a standard CD in a digipack with a 20-page booklet, a special edition CD in a 6-panel digipack with a 56-page booklet including slipcase, and as a double 180g vinyl LP with a 20-page large-format booklet, as well as in the usual digital formats.

With the new album Zeit and a major European and North American tour in spring and summer 2022, one thing is already certain: It’s going to be a big Rammstein year!

GHOST TO SPONSOR BAYLEY CURRY’S NO. 4 SATURDAY MARCH 12 AT PHOENIX RACEWAY

GHOST TO SPONSOR NASCAR XFINITY DRIVER BAYLEY CURRY’S NO. 4 CHEVROLET

SATURDAY MARCH 12 AT PHOENIX RACEWAY

 IMPERA OUT MARCH 11

GHOST proudly announces its new partnership with NASCAR Xfinity Series team JD Motorsports and driver Bayley Currey.

The GRAMMY-winning Swedish rock outfit will be the primary sponsor for Currey’s No. 4 Chevrolet  — a/k/a the “Papa 4 car” — to be unveiled at the United Rentals 200 at Phoenix Raceway on Saturday, March 12—exactly one day after the release of the band’s hotly anticipated new album, IMPERA (Loma Vista Recordings).

This unique partnership marks the band’s first foray into American motorsports.

“I’m a musician myself,” says JD Motorsports VP of Sales & Marketing Tony Priscaro, “So it’s rocked working with Ghost and Loma Vista Recordings on this car. We can’t wait to put the pedal to the metal.’”

The design of the No. 4 Chevrolet tells the story of how this unprecedented partnership came together. The paint scheme features the band’s logo, along with their partners Loma Vista Recordings, Global Merchandising ServicesRevolver Magazine and Rick Sales Entertainment (RSE).

The partnership is managed by marketing and content creation agency A.E. Engine with promotional support provided by Out of the Groove, and its host Eric Estepp. The Out of the Groove logo will also be featured on the No. 4 Chevrolet.

“Me and Craig (Baroncelli) at A.E. Engine are both huge fans of Ghost,” says Eric Estepp. “Fans know I love the band and wear Ghost shirts on my show regularly. I’m constantly getting comments on my channel or people coming up to me at the races talking about how much they love the band, too. So we knew this would be really exciting for the fans.”

“At A.E. Engine, we’re focused on bringing new partners and audiences to the sport,” says Craig Baroncelli, CEO and Publisher. “Eric actually introduced me to Ghost. We were texting back and forth about the new Ghost song and video – ‘Call Me Little Sunshine’ – when it was released in January and we quickly realized the new album – IMPERA – will be released one day prior to the Xfinity Series race at Phoenix Raceway. At that point it was a no-brainer – we had to pursue this opportunity. I am just thankful Ghost and Loma Vista Recordings were so inspired by the idea. They are the ones that brought this car to life”.

The 25-year-old driver Currey is in his first full-time year with JD Motorsports, but he’s no stranger to Phoenix Raceway, including having made a Cup Series start there in 2019, as well as in the Xfinity series in more recent years. Currey finished seventh in last March’s LS Track 250 Xfinity Series race at Phoenix Raceway.

“I’m ready to rock,” says Currey. “I’m excited about this one, and I know the boys at the shop are excited about this one too, we have a lot of metal fans on our team. Once we heard a deal was imminent, we started working on the cars to Ghost songs. With Ghost on my car, I am ready to take on the world.”

The United Rentals 200 is live on FS1, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio (Ch. 90) on Saturday, March 12 at 4:30pm EST.

Ghost’s latest album IMPERA is released on March 11, 2022.

Team Owner Johnny Davis first began fielding the No. 4 car in what is now the Xfinity Series in 1983 with Joe Henry Thurman as the driver. From 1983-1985, Davis and Thurman competed in 41 races and put the JD Motorsports name on the map. Although JDM has seen a sharp rise in on-track performance in the past few years, success is nothing new to this team. SPIRITUALIZED: NEW VIDEO FOR “The Mainline Song” OUT NOW

SPIRITUALIZED

NEW VIDEO SINGLE AND VIDEO

“The Mainline Song”

OUT NOW

With their new LP Everything Was Beautiful due out April 22 via Fat Possum, today Spiritualized share a video for the third single to be taken from their already critically-acclaimed forthcoming album. The propulsive rush of “The Mainline Song” was at least partly inspired by the protests in the US happening towards the end of the first Lockdown in 2020. The equally dynamic video, directed by J Spaceman, can be viewed HERE.

Early acclaim for Everything Was Beautiful

“A record that manages to be both direct and concise yet also wildly experimental, tender, nihilistic and joyous… It’s everything that you could want in a Spiritualized album.” Uncut – 9/10

“Much of Everything Was Beautiful has a vital, thundering pulse… Some fantastic songs aboard, too, including ‘Always Together With You’s Daniel Johnston-style naked expression of fatherly/romantic commitment, and a country-soul ballad, ‘Crazy’, complete with pedal steel. So, yes, utterly beautiful, as advertised.” MOJO – 4 stars ****

“An album chock-full of the soaring musical extravaganzas that make a Spiritualized record such an event.” Shindig – 5 stars *****

“A record that fills the void with ecstatic noise… Between Mainlines propulsive euphoria and the crashing grandeur of The A Song (Laid In Your Arms), a declaration of belief in the restorative powers of consuming sound takes potent, peak-Spaceman form.” Record Collector – 4 stars ****

“An immaculate orb of grandiose space-rock. Pierce’s rare communications are generally breathtaking events, and Everything Was Beautiful is no different.” Classic Rock – 9/10

“A life-affirming masterpiece, as euphoric as music can be.” Classic Pop – 9/10

“Some of the most adventurous and mind-bending music that Spiritualized have ever released… This is one of the most potent expressions of Pierce’s vision to date.” PROG
Spiritualized have previously shared videos for  ‘Always Together With You’ and ‘Crazy’ from the album.

While some people imploded in the lockdowns and isolation of the epidemic, others were thriving. “I felt like I’d been in training for this my whole life” says J Spaceman. He was referring to his fondness for isolation and when you reframe loneliness as “beautiful solitude” then it isn’t so bad. He would walk through an empty “Roman London” where “even the sirens had stopped singing” and where the world was “full of birdsong and strangeness and no contrails.” He used the birdsong walks to listen and try and make sense of all the music playing in his head. The mixes of his new record, a ninth studio album, weren’t working out yet.

Spaceman plays 16 different instruments on Everything Was Beautiful which was put down at 11 different studios, as well as at his home. He also employed more than 30 musicians and singers including his daughter Poppy, long-time collaborator and friend John Coxon, string and brass sections, choirs and finger bells and chimes from the Whitechapel Bell Foundry. So there’s a lot going on.

“There was so much information on it that the slightest move would unbalance it, but going around in circles is important to me. Not like you’re spiraling out of control but you’re going around and around and on each revolution you hold onto the good each time. Sure, you get mistakes as well, but you hold on to some of those too and that’s how you kind of… achieve. Well, you get there.”

Eventually the mixes got there and Everything Was Beautiful was achieved. The result is some of the most “live” sounding recordings that Spiritualized have released since the Live At The Albert Hall record of 1998, around the time of Ladies & Gentlemen, We Are Floating In Space.

The opening track “Always Together With You” is a reworking / supercharging of a track originally released in demo quality in 2014. This new version is a perfect Spiritualized song; a breathtaking, hard-edged, psychedelic pop tune where themes of high romance and space travel collide.

The artwork is designed once again with Mark Farrow. If you buy the vinyl you can pop a pill box out of the sleeve, revealing gold foil underneath, and assemble the Braille-embossed little thing and put it somewhere in the house. The box set has 8 of them. Literally a boxset. It looks more beautiful in the flesh. “Farrow and I were talking about what we should do and we just said, ‘It’s called Everything Is Beautiful, how could you not have a pill?’”

All these layers, all these details, the year-long mixes, the making sense of it all and the lives lived within these lyrics; for somebody so famously unconfident of his own abilities, isn’t this a punishing thing to keep doing? “Yeah, but I like what I do. There’s a line from Jonathan Meades that’s about having all the attributes to being an artist. ‘Paranoia, vanity, selfishness, egotism, sycophancy, resentment, moral nullity and more idiot than idiot savant.’ “And that’s what it feels like, this kind of thing. You’re your own worst enemy and biggest supporter. “There’s a ‘Of course this is worth it. It’s me’ and then this kind of deep doubt of ‘What the fuck is this all about?’ “And then ‘Why is it important?’ and then knowing there’s no easy answer. But it’s there. I know it’s there.”

GHOST: “Twenties” New Single and Lyric Video Live Now

GHOST

“Twenties”

New Single and Lyric Video Live Now

IMPERA OUT MARCH 11 ON LOMA VISTA RECORDINGS

“Tell Them All… It Is Time”…

“Twenties” is the latest advance offering from IMPERA, the imminent fifth album from GRAMMY-winning Swedish theatrical rock outfit GHOST, heralding its arrival March 11 via Loma Vista Recordings.

With its messianic promises of reigns of pennies and piles of moolah set to an appropriately manic musical backdrop, the unrelenting and propulsive “Twenties” stands in stark contrast to its Pre-IMPERA predecessor, the eerily hypnotic “Call Me Little Sunshine.” In fact, the apocalyptically prophetic vibe of “Twenties” —  particularly its lyrical relevance to historical events unfolding on the world stage (however incidental) — render the song utterly unique in the Ghost canon.

The release of “Twenties” is accompanied by an Apple Music New Music Daily exclusive interview with Ghost’s Tobias Forge, welcoming Apple’s Zane Lowe into the world of IMPERA. For more information, go to https://found.ee/Ghost_ZaneLowe

Produced by Klas Åhlund and mixed by Andy Wallace — and also featuring the Active Rock #1 radio single “Hunter’s Moon” — IMPERA finds Ghost transported literally centuries forward from the Black Plague era of its previous album, 2018 Best Rock Album GRAMMY nominee Prequelle. The result is the most ambitious and lyrically incisive entry in the Ghost canon: Over the course of IMPERA’s 12-song cycle, empires rise and fall, would-be messiahs ply their hype (financial and spiritual alike), prophecies are foretold as the skies fill with celestial bodies divine and man-made… All in all, the most current and topical Ghost subject matter to date is set against a hypnotic and darkly colorful melodic backdrop making IMPERA a listen like no other — yet unmistakably, quintessentially Ghost.

“Twenties” drops just as Ghost concludes a 26-date U.S. arena tour March 3 at the Honda Center in Anaheim CA. Co-headlined by Volbeat with support from Twin Temple, the Pre-IMPERA Tour played nightly to rapturous crowds and critical acclaim alike, including:

“A Ghost concert is the aural equivalent of an amusement park visit.”—BRAVE WORDS

“Papa’s swagger level was on 100 while strutting across the stage… One of the most interesting aspects of Ghost and to Forge as Papa is the juxtaposition of what you’re seeing versus what you’re hearing.”—CONSEQUENCE

“Ghost demonstrated why it is hailed as today’s leading new heavy-metal band.”—LINCOLN JOURNAL STAR

“Ghost’s band of ghouls has never sounded tighter… The band’s production is spectacular and Tobias Forge continues to creep up the list of greatest modern-day frontmen.”—LOUDWIRE

“Triumphant… Papa Emeritus IV sashayed through an epic 16-song set”—REVOLVER

“Forge and the Nameless Ghouls put a lot of care and thought into their craft, and because of it, they delivered one of the most spectacular shows I have seen in awhile last night.”—TWIN CITIES MEDIA

“Every time they tour, Ghost’s stage show gets bigger and better.”—WORCESTER TELEGRAM

Shot on location in London & Brighton, THIS MUCH I KNOW TO BE TRUE captures Nick Cave and Warren Ellis’ exceptional creative relationship as they bring to life the songs from their last two studio albums, Ghosteen (Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds) and Carnage (Nick Cave & Warren Ellis).

In this document of their first ever performances of these albums, filmed in spring 2021 ahead of their UK tour, we see the two, accompanied by singers and string quartet, as they nurture each song into existence. The film features a special appearance by close friend and long-term collaborator, Marianne Faithfull.

Interstitial pieces between the songs illuminate the cosmology and themes of the music. We hear about the process of Nick writing The Red Hand Files—the letters he chooses to answer and the replies themselves – giving us an insight into his current concerns in life and music, and into the method by which he is able to bring his own thoughts and feelings into order. We also visit the workshop where he is creating a series of sculptures depicting the life of the Devil—a portrait of the lives of all of us as we move from innocence to experience, attune to the world and its attendant loss, and eventually confront our own mortality.

THIS MUCH I KNOW TO BE TRUE reaches into the deep friendship and personal relationship between Nick Cave and Warren Ellis, something glimpsed in the 2014 Cave pseudo-documentary, 20,000 Days on Earth. The film will prove to be another significant moment in the journeys of Nick Cave and Warren Ellis, capturing the mood and spirit of the pair as they move through a new, optimistic phase.

Shot in color by Andrew Dominik (Chopper, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, Blonde) and with cinematography by Robbie Ryan (The Favourite, Marriage StoryTHIS MUCH I KNOW TO BE TRUE is a companion piece to Dominik’s 2016 film One More Time with Feeling which premiered at the Venice Film festival followed by screenings in 850 cinemas across 30 countries, also distributed by Trafalgar Releasing.

Stranger Than Kindness: The Nick Cave Exhibition, North American premiere

Stranger Than Kindness: The Nick Cave Exhibition

North American premiere

April 8-August 7, 2022
Galerie de la Maison du Festival, Montreal

Stranger Than Kindness: The Nick Cave Exhibition opens Friday, April 8 at the Galerie de la Maison du Festival. Tickets will go on sale this Friday, March 4 at 10 am via evenko.ca

This is the North American premiere of the exhibition, which was previously presented at The Black Diamond, Copenhagen, Denmark. There are currently no plans for the exhibition to travel to the USA.

The exhibition was met with acclaim from press and visitors alike when it opened in Copenhagen in March 2020.

Watch the trailer of the exhibition HERE.
Photos are available HERE.

Stranger Than Kindness: The Nick Cave Exhibition is an unprecedented look into the creative world of musician, storyteller and cultural icon Nick Cave. With more than 300 objects collected or created by Nick Cave through six decades of his creative and private life brought together in large-scale installations, the exhibition is an artwork in itself. Created for The Black Diamond of The Royal Danish Library in Copenhagen, and with Cave as a co-curator and co-designer, the exhibition is an unorthodox fusion of biography, autobiography and fiction, asking what shapes our lives and makes us who we are.

Nick Cave’s body of work encompasses a wide range of media and modes of expression, with narrative forms at its heart. Stranger Than Kindness: The Nick Cave Exhibition invites visitors to follow Cave’s development as an artist – and to gain insight into the overarching themes of his work, his working methods and the many sources of inspiration underpinning it all. Behind each work is an equally fascinating artistic process not originally intended for public view; the exhibition opens up the innermost parts of Cave’s creative universe and offers a story of its own.

Stranger Than Kindness covers the journey from Cave’s childhood in 1960s Wangaratta, Australia, through the chaotic years with his first bands, The Boys Next Door and The Birthday Party, and his relocation to Berlin and then London. Central is the ever-evolving collaboration in Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, from the band’s inception in Cave’s most obsessive period in Berlin, up to their latest release Ghosteen (2019), widely acknowledged as their best work ever. The exhibition reveals how Nick Cave’s life, music, archives and fictions continue to intertwine, inform and inspire each other.

IN COLLABORATION WITH NICK CAVE
Stranger Than Kindness has been designed in collaboration with Nick Cave to create a series of immersive installations which allow visitors to inhabit the thoughts and creative process of an artist. It is a tangible, physical narrative, in which the space and exhibition design become an extension of the many stories contained within Cave’s life and writings.

“When the Royal Danish Library contacted me with the idea of a “Nick Cave Exhibition” I was reluctant to get involved. I am not nostalgic by nature and I had no time for a trip down Memory Lane. But the team at the library were clearly serious people with a wonderful infectious energy and they drew me in! We created an exhibition that feels unprecedented in its audacious reach, its feet rooted in the past while extending into the uncertain future. In the end we were able to put together an exhibition of extraordinary detail that commented on the fragile and vulnerable nature of identity. I am so proud to be a part of this unique and unorthodox exhibition—a shattered history we called Stranger Than Kindness.” – Nick Cave

Stranger Than Kindness vibrates between the voice of the curators and the voice of the artist. Cave working closely with the curators has resulted in an original take on the biographical exhibition, allowing a new experience with the material, the objects, and the life and stories of Nick Cave. A merge of biography, autobiography and fiction placed in a spatial narrative – and an invitation into an artist’s mythical universe of creation.

Together with his long-time musical collaborator, Warren Ellis, Cave has also composed and recorded an 800 square meter (approx 8,600 square feet) soundscape that both supports and contrasts the physical narrative across the eight rooms of the exhibition.

The exhibition also contains two installations created with artists Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard, who wrote and directed the 2014 Bafta-nominated Nick Cave feature film 20,000 Days on Earth.

ARTIFACTS
Nick Cave’s archives are bountiful and diverse: drafts, original artwork, handwritten lyrics, diaries, photographs, videos, found objects and much more. Rich, obsessive and unorthodox they are a vibrant, inexhaustible source of exploration of his work. This is the wellspring of Nick Cave’s lyrics and their teeming world of imaginative imagery and vivid characters. Delving deep into this archive is not just an act of retrospection, it is also a journey through Cave’s history and creative processes.

For Cave there is a close connection between the visual and his narratives. Pictures made from blood and hair, glue and found objects – such as pornographic photographs, religious prayer cards, and kitsch lenticulars – were often the springboards for the songs themselves.

“What you see in this exhibition lives in the intricate world constructed around the song or book or script or score. It is the material that gives birth to and nourishes this official work. There is an enormous amount of this peripheral stuff – drawings, maps, lists, doodles, photographs, paintings, collages, scribblings and drafts – which are the secret and unformed property of the artist. These are not to be seen as artworks so much as the wild-eyed and compulsive superstructure that bears the song or book or script or score along. They are a support system of manic tangential information.” – Nick Cave

STRANGER THAN KINDNESS – THE BOOK
The exhibition is accompanied by the book, Stranger Than Kindness, a Sunday Times bestseller published in March 2020. The book was developed and curated by Nick Cave in collaboration with Christina Back and features full color reproductions of original artwork, handwritten lyrics, photographs and collected personal artifacts along with commentary and meditations from Nick Cave, Janine Barrand and a substantial essay by the acclaimed American writer Darcey Steinke.

Here are the international press’ accolades:

#6 Most important cultural events of 2020 – Time Out (UK)

‘A wonderful cabinet of curiosities and a deeply touching visualisation of inspiration and love… Stranger Than Kindness consciously avoids many of the obvious pitfalls that the concept ‘art exhibition about a popular musician’ could fall into. Both the totality of the experience and the details have been thoroughly considered. The exhibition spaces are not dutiful containers of biographical knowledge, but instead appear as creative zones/windows of opportunity in which Cave can live out his wildest collector-manical fantasies and concretize his love for the people, who have shaped his life.’ – Information (Denmark) – Danish daily national newspaper

‘A viscerally assaultive and thrilling way of seeing into the mind of one of the last great rock stars… This hypnotic sonic monologue and the exhibition’s labyrinth-like feel adds further to the mesmerising sense that the visitor is inside the poet-performer’s twisted psyche.’ – The Face (UK)

‘A rare insight into the creative machinery of a great artist…The Royal Danish Library’s installation about songwriter and rock icon Nick Cave is extensive, but first and foremost it is deeply touching.’ – Jylland-Posten (Denmark) – Danish daily national newspaper

GENERAL INFORMATION
The exhibition was developed and designed by Christina Back, Royal Danish Library and Janine Barrand, Arts Centre Melbourne in collaboration with Nick Cave originally for The Black Diamond, Copenhagen. It was curated and produced by Royal Danish Library in collaboration with the Australian Music Vault at Arts Centre Melbourne and Nick Cave Productions.

The exhibition was initially made possible with support from main sponsor Gucci and the Beckett Foundation. The Montreal exhibition is presented and produced by Victor Shiffman (Workers of Art) in partnership with Nick Cave Productions as a co-production with Le Festival international de Jazz de Montréal and evenko.

Following more than a year of speculation, Paul McCartney today announces the GOT BACK Tour,  a 13-city return to U.S. stages, kicking off April 28 with Paul’s first ever show in Spokane WA and running through to June 16 in East Rutherford NJ, where Paul will play MetLife Stadium for the first time since 2016.

GOT BACK will see Paul’s live debuts in Hollywood FL, Knoxville TN and Winston-Salem NC, his first Fort Worth TX and Baltimore MD shows since 1976 with Wings and 1964 with The Beatles, respectively, and his first Oakland CA date in 20 years. The tour will also include stops in cities where Paul has put in more recent yet no less unforgettable performances, including Boston MA, Los Angeles CA, Orlando FL, Seattle WA, and Syracuse NY.

Tickets for all GOT BACK tour dates will be on sale to the public beginning Friday, February 25 at 10am local time. American Express® Card Members can purchase tickets before the general public beginning Tuesday, February 22 at 10am local time through Thursday, February 24 at 10pm local time. For a full itinerary, see below or check paulmccartneygotback.com.

GOT BACK marks Paul’s first series of live shows since his FRESHEN UP Tour wrapped in July 2019–its 39-date 12-country odyssey concluding with a triumphant sold-out show at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles—a performance that instantly attained legendary status, generating rave reviews and Best of 2019 notices including:

“… Wow. After several decades now of writing about music and facing the perpetual challenge of translating what is beyond words into understandable language, that’s the best I can muster. Here in the heady aftermath of Paul McCartney’s final show of his Freshen Up tour at Dodger Stadium along with 50,000 of my fellow Angelenos on July 13, 2019 — Wow.” —AMERICAN SONGWRITER

“The perfect display of the philosophy McCartney has embodied over his 60-year career in music… the perfect bow to tie up the perfect show, with the final lyric of the night an ever-appropriate one: ‘And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.’” —BILLBOARD

“Macca continues to put artists half his age and younger to shame with epic shows featuring his crackerjack band and a jukebox of hits” —ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY Best Live Music Performances of 2019

“The best thing about a McCartney show is how many generations of people leave with the broadest smile upon their face. Whether it’s the first time they’ve seen him or the tenth, he never, ever, disappoints.” —FLAUNT

“McCartney was in top form, his voice effortlessly climbing to the heights it always hit so easily back in the day…” —THE LOS ANGELES TIMES

“The total and complete immersion into MaccaLand was colorful and loud, rocking and rolling, nostalgic and present, and, above all, in the truest sense, marvelous… And, in the end, the love McCartney has taken for 60 years was equal to the love he’s made for generations.” —RELIX

“Definitely We’re Amazed by Paul McCartney’s Blowout Dodger Stadium Show… McCartney remains a show-stopping entertainer of the highest order.” —VARIETY

With songs like ‘Hey Jude’, ‘Live and Let Die’, ‘Band on the Run’,  ‘Let It Be’ and so many more, the Paul McCartney live experience is everything any music lover could ever want from a rock show: Hours of the greatest moments from the last 60 years of music — dozens of songs from Paul’s solo, Wings and of course Beatles catalogues that have formed the soundtracks of our lives.  Paul and his band have performed in an unparalleled range of venues and locations throughout the Americas, the UK, Europe, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and all points between: outside the Coliseum in Rome, Moscow’s Red Square, Buckingham Palace, The White House, a free show in Mexico for over 400,000 people, the last ever show at San Francisco’s Candlestick Park where The Beatles played their final concert in 1966, a 2016 week in the California desert that included two headline sets at the historic Desert Trip festival and a jam-packed club gig  for a few hundred lucky fans at Pappy & Harriet’s Pioneertown Palace, and even one performance broadcast live into Space! Featuring Paul’s longtime band – Paul “Wix” Wickens (keyboards), Brian Ray (bass/guitar), Rusty Anderson (guitar) and Abe Laboriel Jr (drums) – and constantly upgraded state of the art audio and video technology that ensures an unforgettable experience from every seat in the house, a Paul McCartney concert is never anything short of life-changing.

FOO FIGHTERS

10 NEW SHOWS ADDED TO 2022 NORTH AMERICAN TOUR

Tickets On Sale Friday February 18 at 10am Local Time

Rock & Roll Hall of Famers Foo Fighters will be giving the people even more of what they want. The band has added no less than 10 more evenings of life-affirming rock communion across the US and Canada throughout 2022.

Tickets for the newly announced headline shows will be on sale to the public Friday, February 18 at 10 am local time. Citi cardmembers will have access to exclusive presales for the Sioux Falls and Bend shows from Tuesday, February 15 at 10 am local through Thursday, February 17 at 10 pm local.

The new dates expand Foo Fighters’ North American run that kicked off in 2021 with already legendary marathon shows including the return of rock n roll to Madison Square Garden and the Forum in L.A.,  a triumphant Lollapalooza headline set, and literally dozens more—all eliciting some of the most ecstatic reactions in Foo Fighters history:

“Really, what better act to usher in the return of live music than the Foo Fighters… The crowd screamed in ecstasy at the start of every tune as if it were the first of the night, and the band stampeded through each one as if it were an encore.” —BILLBOARD

“Dave Grohl and co. always up the ante in their live shows by segueing into jams, heavy metal freakouts, and a healthy blast of energy, and this show was no different. In a year with so much uncertainty, Foo Fighters proved that they were not just reliable, but necessary. Catch them on tour in 2022.” —CONSEQUENCE

“Foo Fighters is a unicorn, a mythical beast—one of the last few hard rock acts touring at the stadium level—and they take pains to dazzle you like one.” —LAS VEGAS WEEKLY

“Strangers hugged and high-fived… They punched the air, swung their hair and danced, twisting and swaying at their seats in a state of high-decibel music-induced bliss.” —THE NEW YORK TIMES

“Over three loud, sweaty, emotional, and supremely fun hours, the band ushered back in the exhilarating familiarity of our pasts… it was a return to joy.” —ROLLING STONE

PORTALS

DEBUT SOLO EP OUT APRIL 23, 2022

Kirk Hammett of Metallica makes his solo debut with Portals, a four-song instrumental EP to be released April 23, 2022 via Blackened Recordings across digital platforms, on CD, and as a Record Store Day Exclusive Ocean Blue Vinyl EP (including a download card).

True to its title, Portals is a collection of gateways to myriad musical and psychic destinations. Recorded in multiple locales ranging from Los Angeles to Paris to Oahu, Portals is both the result of musical and metaphysical journeys. An invitation to inner worlds accessible only by music and the psyche it fuels.

“This music was created with what I describe as an Audio-Cinematic approach. They’re soundtracks to the movies in your mind.” – Kirk Hammett

Produced by Kirk, Portals is comprised of the songs Maiden and the Monster and The Jinn on side A, followed by High Plains Drifter and The Incantation on side B (both co-written with Edwin Outwater, who contributes keyboards and leads the orchestral players from the LA Philharmonic on Portals — and with whom Kirk had previously collaborated on Metallica’s S&M2 concerts and releases). Other familiar names amongst the Portals players include drummers Jon Theodore and Abraham Laboriel, Greg Fidelman on bass, Emmy-winning arranger Blake Neely, and Bob Rock.

Nick Cave and Warren Ellis have added three new shows to their upcoming North American tour in support of their rapturously received album CARNAGE.

Tickets to the newly added dates — March 10 at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles, March 16 at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver, and March 29 at the Lincoln Theatre

While they have composed and recorded soundtracks together, and Ellis is a long-term member of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, CARNAGE is the first full album of songs Cave and Ellis have released as a duo. The pair’s creative chemistry is rooted in their long history of music making, both as collaborators and as individual artists. They first crossed paths in 1993, when Ellis played violin on several songs for the Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds album Let Love In, before going on to join the band as a full-time member. The two have also recorded in Grinderman, formed in 2006, and have worked together on numerous film and TV scores.

Nick Cave and Warren Ellis’ new album CARNAGE is out now.

“Some heavy, tormented records that reflect the pulverizing grief of the post-pandemic world feel like they might crush a listener; others offer the consolation of a weighted blanket. CARNAGE, the first official album from Nick Cave and his Bad Seeds bandmate Warren Ellis, is the latter, rumbling toward catharsis through impenetrable noise and jarring lyricism balanced precariously on sudden celestial arrangements.” —THE NEW YORKER

“(4 stars)… two Bad Seeds confront loneliness, cabin fever, and white supremacy — while still showing a glint of optimism… as sparse as it sounds, there’s great depth to CARNAGE.” —ROLLING STONE

“… the pair find an awe-filled beauty in the both the minutiae of the everyday and the immensity of existence… a moving, transportive meditation on what comes after—after grief, after life, after love—and finds reasons to keep going.” —AV CLUB

“… at turns brutal, surreal, and romantic… draws from the formal language of modern cinema, concerned less with verses and choruses than images, settings, visceral portrayals of extreme emotional states.” —PITCHFORK

“It’s been a hell of a year, and perhaps a glimpse of heaven is a better prescription than a war cry… what Cave and Ellis have crafted with CARNAGE is a refreshing respite from chaos, a record that sits at the burning edge of dawn and anticipates destruction’s undoing.” —CONSEQUENCE

“… stunningly, heartbreakingly beautiful… CARNAGE is brutal in a spiritual sense more than a stylistic one, approaching these moments of elemental beauty only after traversing rocky ground.” —STEREOGUM
