To Be Released On January 12, 2024 and Available for Preorder Today via Sub Pop Available to Stream Now
As the final dates of their monumental 20th anniversary tour approach, The Postal Service and Death Cab for Cutie commemorate their 2003 landmark albums once more: This time in the form of a double A-side single, Brand New Colony / We Looked Like Giants 7″, featuring The Beths and Car Seat Headrest paying tribute to two beloved songs from Give Up (Sub Pop) and Transatlanticism (Barsuk).
On one A-side is New Zealand indie rockers, The Beths’ delightfully bright cover of “Brand New Colony.” The sonically brilliant reinterpretation features fellow New Zealander, producer and multi-instrumentalist Pickle Darling’s signature finger pluckings and dulcet keys.
The other A-side features alt-rock mainstay Car Seat Headrest’s propulsive guitar-driven take on Death Cab for Cutie fan favorite “We Looked Like Giants.”
The Give Up/Transatlanticism 20th Anniversary Tour will come to a close with three nights at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on October 13, 15 and 17.

With their universally acclaimed 11th album But Here We Are stacking up Best of 2023 So Far accolades and singles “Rescued” and “Under You” cementing the band’s tally of more #1s than any other artist at Rock and Alternative Radio, Foo Fighters have confirmed a massive run of summer 2024 U.S. Stadium dates. Foo Fighters’ 2024 stadium dates will mark the band’s biggest U.S. headline shows since the June 2 release of But Here We Are, which has landed on the mid-year best of lists of Alternative Press, Consequence, Entertainment Weekly, The Los Angeles Times, Loudwire and Uproxx among others, while generating some of the most positive critical notes in Foo Fighters history, including:
“Tragedy isn’t necessary to produce transcendent music. But here, it did.” — THE ATLANTIC
“★★★★★ Stunning … a standout, and at times stunning, piece of work … quite possibly their best and most meaningful album.”– GOLDMINE
“Explosive, emotional and inspired… a back-to-basics immediacy and intensity… The undercurrent holding all of ‘But Here We Are’ together is not an idea so much as raw emotion. Grohl’s melodies are as soaring and anthemic as they’ve sounded in years; his vocals are freshly impassioned and heartfelt.”— THE NEW YORK TIMES
“A fantastic record full of riffs and reflection… so catchy and vibrant, so brimming with wild-eyed wonder… Grohl clearly understands that we honor departed loved ones by building new joys we wish they were around to share.”– NPR
“Dave Grohl gives himself over to arena-sized grief, reckoning, and resolve on the band’s most propulsive and purposeful music of the last two decades… offering earnest hope, fond reminiscence, and skyscraping choruses” — PITCHFORK
“One of the strongest albums of the band’s career… reckoning with the conundrums of human existence through the sheer power of music” — SPIN
“Memorable and meaningful”— USA TODAY
“Aching directness and wounded sweetness make a potent combination here… But Here We Are pulses with the sense that the future happened too quickly, and we’re all having to navigate situations and handle emotions we thought we’d get to much later in life. These songs chart the push through denial into the acceptance of the reality of death and the lifetime journey of bereavement.”— VULTURE

DEPECHE MODE “MY FAVOURITE STRANGER” OFFICIAL VIDEO & VINEGAR HILL SESSIONS BOTH LIVE NOW
North American Dates Resume Tomorrow in Austin TX
Depeche Mode has revealed two strikingly different visual aspects of “My Favourite Stranger,” another standout from its universally acclaimed Memento Mori (Columbia Records), hailed by Allmusic for its “pulsing menace” that “builds to discomfiting yet alluring levels of anxiety.” First is the Anton Corbijn-directed official music video that premiered September 21, taking viewers on a journey to an unknown destination alongside an enigmatic figure with a surprising secret. Next up is today’s unveiling of “My Favourite Stranger (Vinegar Hill Sessions),” the third in a series of intimate and unique pared back arrangements of Memento Mori tracks recorded live at Brooklyn’s Vinegar Hill studios.
On the live front, having kicked off the third leg of the Memento Mori World Tour with a trio of shows at Mexico City’s Foro Sol stadium, Depeche Mode returns to the U.S. tomorrow, September 29, at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas. Following a sold out spring run described as “a death-defying evening” (Los Angeles Times) and “a beautiful, life-affirming display of a band that, 43 years in, still has so much left to give” (Chicago Sun-Times), the tour’s second trek through North America will visit arenas across the continent before wrapping with a mid-December four-night stand in Los Angeles. See below for a full list of dates.
Having sold more than 100 million records and played to more than 35 million fans worldwide, Depeche Mode remains an ever-evolving and singularly influential musical force. Depeche Mode released its critically acclaimed 15th studio album, Memento Mori, on March 24, 2023 alongside the launch of the Memento Mori World Tour, which has since played to well over two million fans and has been extended into 2024 due to overwhelming demand. An indelible inspiration to fans, critics and artists alike, Depeche Mode continues to forge ahead, with the Memento Mori album and tour representing the opening of the newest chapter of a peerless and ongoing legacy.

METALLICA “Too Far Gone? (Live from MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ – August 6, 2023)” Digital Single Out Now “Too Far Gone?” Video Directed by Coan “Buddy” Nichols Live Now
Today marks the release of “Too Far Gone? (Live from MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ – August 6, 2023),” a digital single capturing the debut M72 tour performance of the 72 Seasons standout track as played for some 80,000 fans on night two of the tour’s North American opening weekend. Hailed for “its roaring melody” by the OC Register in their review of Metallica’s recent record-breaking weekend at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, “Too Far Gone?” has quickly become a staple of the M72 No Repeat Weekend setlist rotation. Find out for yourself why the song has quickly become a fan favorite by giving “Too Far Gone? (Live from MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ – August 6, 2023)” a listen HERE.
As for the original studio version of “Too Far Gone?”… it’s been reimagined as a music video directed by Coan “Buddy” Nichols (The Original Skateboarder, The Body Corporate, Deathbowl to Downtown, Love Letters to Skateboarding). Through Nichols’ lens, “Too Far Gone?” becomes the score to raw Metallica performance footage intercut with action shots of pro skater Felipe Nunes. The energy levels of the two scenarios feed off one other, resulting in peak after peak of hyperkinetic intensity—plus a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameo from Tony Hawk, who premiered the video yesterday at: https://youtu.be/T-6Cx-VxXxI
Metallica recently completed the first North American swing of its M72 World Tour September 9 in Glendale AZ. The band will make a headlining appearance October 8 at Power Trip at the Empire Polo Club in Indio CA, before M72 resumes with its next No Repeat Weekend taking place November 3 and 5 at the Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis MO.
“Jenny Lewis, it seems, can do it all…Though Lewis shines in stadiums…her superstardom is more apparent up close, a refusal to shrink her charm to fit a venue where guests nearly piled out the door.” – WASHINGTON POST
“Her voice was pristine as ever…in an instant, she could flip to impressive vocal feats, hitting high notes on ‘Red Bull and Hennessy’ that are rarely heard outside of the safety of studios…And the road-ready driving guitar of ‘Love Feel’ felt messier in the best ways, with Lewis fully inhabiting her rock & roll discipleship” –AUSTIN CHRONICLE
“She was a picture of power — a real-life heroine clad in black leather, wind machine touseling her hair.” – AUSTIN AMERICAN-STATESMAN
“Jenny Lewis’ Infectious Energy Lights Up New York…From her vibrato in the torchy ‘Acid Tongue’ to some genuine grit during ‘The Next Messiah,’ Lewis’ voice was strong but floated effortlessly over the instrumentation. She seemed especially rejuvenated by the new material, finding a pocket for album tracks like ‘Apples and Oranges’ and ‘Cherry Baby’ that made them sound like old favorites…her music, past and future, left everyone smiling.” – VARIETY
As the tail end of 2023 swiftly approaches, Jenny Lewis shows no signs of slowing down. As if the release of her fifth solo album, Joy’All (Blue Note/Capitol Records), scoring her first #1 on the Adult Alternative Airplay chart with “Psychos,” hitting the road as support on the Beck and Phoenix co-headline Summer Odyssey tour, in addition to her own headline dates––and now currently on the road for the 20th anniversary Postal Service and Death Cab for Cutie co-headline tour––weren’t enough, Lewis is kicking it up a notch with the announcement of the Joy’All Ball Tour–a leg of west coast dates heading into the holiday season.
The new leg of headlining dates will kick off in late November and feature stops along the west coast, including: Ventura (Ventura Music Hall), San Luis Obispo (Fremont Theater), Healdsburg (Little Saint), Eugene (McDonald Theatre), Seattle (Paramount Theatre), Portland (Roseland Theatre), San Francisco (The Warfield), Santa Ana (The Observatory) and Los Angeles (Hollywood Palladium).
General onsale for the Joy’All Ball Tour begins Friday, September 15th at 10am PT, with special guests to be announced. See below for the newly announced dates and head over to https://www.jennylewis.com/#tour to grab your tickets.
Coinciding with the tour news, Jenny has partnered with Vevo to unveil a special live performance of “Cherry Baby” for Vevo Live Sessions, which you can watch now:https://jennylewis.lnk.to/CBVevo

BEASTIE BOYS SQUARE Mike Diamond and Adam Horovitz to Attend Unveiling Site of Paul’s Boutique Album Cover Photo Corner of Ludlow & Rivington Streets, Lower East Side NYC Saturday, September 9, 12:00p to 2:00 pm
In commemoration of the unveiling of Beastie Boys Square and 50 years of Hip-Hop, Mike Diamond (Mike D) and Adam Horovitz (Adrock), in association with The City of New York and Council Member Chris Marte, will be celebrating in the Lower East Side on September 9 beginning at 12:00 pm. on Rivington Street between Ludlow and Essex Streets. The celebration will go on until 2:00 p.m., and will feature a special guest DJ set by Jon Bless HiFi System, pop-up activations and more.
Diamond and Horovitz will be in attendance for the dedication of Beastie Boys Square, a renaming of the corner of Ludlow and Rivington Streets, the site where the iconic gatefold cover of the band’s sophomore album Paul’s Boutique was shot.
The christening of Beastie Boys Square marks another milestone in Beastie Boys’ decades-long relationship with New York City. Beastie Boys and NYC have been inextricably intertwined since the band was formed at the late Adam “MCA” Yauch’s 17th birthday in uptown Manhattan, quickly becoming a staple of the city’s hardcore punk underground. The relationship grew in depth and complexity as the trio’s debut album Licensed to Ill became the first rap record to hit #1 on the US album chart, reaching an early apex with the 1989 release of Paul’s Boutique. Sorely under-appreciated upon its original release, Paul’s Boutique has since grown dramatically in stature — often referred to as the “Sgt. To say that Nirvana‘s third and ultimately final studio album In Utero was one of the most impactful records of the modern era would be an understatement. Originally released September 21, 1993, In Utero‘s unadorned sonic rawness was received by critics and fans with equal measures of shock and elation, as Steve Albini‘s recording laid bare every primal nuance of the most confrontational yet vulnerable material Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl would ever record. And with its 1991 predecessor Nevermind having sold some 30 million copies and causing a seismic pop cultural shift, In Utero was essentially the first record Nirvana would make with any expectations from the public. So from the opening quasi-shamble melodics of “Serve The Servants” through the bittersweet closing strains of “All Apologies,” In Utero was the sound of the most incredible yet conflicted musical force of the era at the peak of its powers coming to terms with a generational spokes-band mantle they’d never seen coming—and ultimately surmounting these struggles to make the record they needed to make.
In Uterowent on to mark Nirvana’s first #1 debut on the Billboard 200 and has since been certified 6x platinum in the United States.
Geffen/UMe commemorates the 30th anniversary of In Utero with several multi-format reissues, arriving on October 27, 2023. Configurations include a limited-edition 8LP Super Deluxe box set, 5CD Super Deluxe box set, 1 LP + 10” edition, 2CD Deluxe edition, and a Digital Super Deluxe edition.
Pre-order/Pre-save Nirvana – In Utero: 30th AnniversaryHERE.
The three Super Deluxe Edition releases comprise a total of 72 tracks with 53 previously unreleased tracks. Among the unreleased material, two full In Utero-era concerts, namely Live In Los Angeles (1993) and the band’s final Seattle performance, Live In Seattle(1994), are included in addition to six bonus live tracks from Rome, Springfield, and New York. Seattle producer and engineer Jack Endino—who helmed the band’s 1988 debut Bleach—reconstructed the live tracks from stereo soundboard tapes for this year’s reissue. Additionally, In Utero’s original twelve songs, along with five bonus tracks and B-sides, have been newly remastered from the original analog master stereo tapes by Bob Weston at Chicago Mastering Services—who assisted Albini as the only other engineer at the original sessions.
Check out the full tracklisting below.
The physical Super Deluxe Edition box sets also boast a removable front-cover acrylic panel with the album’s iconic Angel; a 48-page hardcover book with unreleased photos; a 20-page newly designed fanzine; a Los Angeles tour poster lithograph by hot rod artist Coop; replicas of the 1993 record store promo Angel mobile, three gig fliers, two ticket stubs for Los Angeles and Seattle, an All-Access tour laminate, and four cloth sticky tour backstage passes: Press, Photo, After Show, and Local Crew.
Available exclusively at online stores at uDiscovermusic.com and SoundofVinyl.com and limited to 3000 units worldwide, fans who buy either Super Deluxe Edition will receive a Nirvana acrylic stand to display their angel-on-acrylic panel included in both boxset configurations.
Nirvana recorded In Uteroover the course of six days in February 1993 at Pachyderm Studio in Cannon Falls, MN with Albini. Retrospectively, Pitchfork rated it a rare perfect score of “10.0” and wrote, “In Utero is the sort of painful shock that, paradoxically, reinstills the empowering sensation of feeling alive.” Upon its arrival back in 1993, David Fricke wrote in Rolling Stone, “In Uterois a lot of things—brilliant, corrosive, enraged and thoughtful, most of them all at once. But more than anything, it’s a triumph of the will.”

Formed by friends Kurt Cobain and Krist Novoselic, Nirvana emerged from Aberdeen, Washington in 1987. The band’s full-length debut Bleach was recorded in 30 hours for $606.17 and released in 1988 on Sub Pop, soon becoming the biggest seller in the label’s history. Joined by drummer Dave Grohl, the trio delivered Nevermindin 1991, peaking at #1 on the Billboard 200, going RIAA Diamond in the United States, and moving over 30 million copies worldwide as “one of the best-selling albums of all-time,” according to Soundscan. The 1993 follow-up In Utero bowed at #1 on the Billboard 200 and has been certified platinum in 10 countries and gold in 9 more. The Nirvana catalog is also highlighted in the U.S. by the newly Diamond-certified single “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” platinum Incesticide[1992], 8x-platinum MTV Unplugged in New York[1994], and platinum From the Muddy Banks of the Wishkah [1996]. Nirvana was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame® during its first year of eligibility in 2014. Beyond selling a total of 75 million records globally, the band has collected 1 American Music Award, 1 BRIT Award, 7 MTV VMA Awards, and 2 GRAMMY® Awards, including a Lifetime Achievement GRAMMY® Award in 2023. Standing out as one of the most-streamed rock bands of the modern era, Nirvana’s music has endured through generations and eras at an unmatched level of influence.
