JIMMY EAT WORLD ANNOUNCES U.S. TOUR DATES WITH FOO FIGHTERS

Having just completed the annual circuit of alternative radio shows, Jimmy Eat World has announced a brief run of US tour dates with Foo Fighters. The bands will team up for seven shows before Jimmy Eat World embarks on a six week European headline tour.

With tour dates already scheduled into March, ’08 is looking to be as busy a year for Jimmy Eat World as 2007 was. In October the band released their fifth album Chase This Light, which Entertainment Weekly called “a master class in hard-rocking for the soft-hearted”. Paste described the new album as “sophisticated, toothsome power pop”, and Harp declared that “if modern rock radio doesn’t spend the next year milking Chase This Light for hits, it’s not the band’s fault.”

Jimmy Eat World’s dates with Foo Fighters are below. For more information on the tour and Chase This Light, please contact Steve Martin or Eliot Wadsworth at nasty little man 212 343 0740 or eliot@nastylittleman.com

Theatrical screenings scheduled around US

“Haunting and majestic… more art-house movie than concert rockumentary” – Los Angeles Times
“one of the most visually stunning music documentaries ever” – Cleveland Free Times
“stupidly gorgeous” – Pitchfork

Sigur Ros have confirmed a number of theatrical screenings of their new documentary film Heima, which was released on DVD Nov 20. All the screenings will be in high-definition with 5.1 surround sound audio, so audiences can fully appreciate the splendor of this remarkable film.

Heima – which translates as both “At Home” and “Homeland” – chronicles a series of free concerts Sigur Ros played in their native Iceland over the course of summer 2006. Combining both the biggest and smallest shows of their career, the entire tour was filmed, and now provides a unique insight into one of the world’s most fascinating and inscrutable bands captured live while exploring their natural habitat like never before. The film was by Nick Fenton with direction from the Oscar-nominated Dean DeBlois. The DVD release includes the film along with a second disc of live performances from all over Iceland, and there is a deluxe edition of the package that includes a 112 page hard bound photo book. Hvarf/Heim, a companion double CD package that includes music from the film along with other new recordings is also available in stores now.

THE MARS VOLTA JANUARY 2008 TOUR DATES ANNOUCED

The Bedlam In Goliath Out Jan. 29, 2008 On Universal

“‘Wax Simulacra’ bursts open with wild, ascending guitars and erratic soprano vocals· If this is the band’s version of calm, we can’t wait for the storm”- ROLLING STONE
Following up on the recent announcement of their New Years Eve headline extravaganza at the Bill Graham Civic in San Francisco, The Mars Volta have confirmed their first dates of 2008, beginning Jan. 9 in Burlington VT and running up to just before the Jan. 29 release date of their new The Bedlam In Goliath.
The first of the shows to go on sale will be January 14th at New York City’s Terminal 5, tickets for which will be available beginning TOMORROW, December 8th at 12 Noon at www.ticketmaster.com/artist/874545. The remaining shows go on sale the weekend of December 15th.

Like previous Mars Volta efforts De-Loused In The Comatorium and Frances The Mute, The Bedlam In Goliath is a thematically linked whole, the songs chapters in a bigger story, inspired by real people, places and events. The Bedlam In Goliath chronicles The Mars Volta’s time with the “Soothsayer” a/k/a the Ouija board owned by vocalist Cedric Bixler-Zavala, and its mutation from a source of amusement during the tour supporting the band’s Amputechture album into a malevolent psycho-spiritual force that nearly tore the group apart, collectively and individually.

The Mars Volta was formed by guitarist/producer/arranger Omar Rodriguez-Lopez and lyricist/vocalist Cedric Bixler-Zavala and issued its first recorded work, the Tremulant EP in 2002. The band has since released three full-length albums, De-Loused In The Comatorium (2003), Frances The Mute (2005)–both of which have been certified gold–and Amputechture (2006). The Bedlam In Goliath will be The Mars Volta’s fourth studio album. Like Frances The Mute and Amputechture, it was produced by the band’s own Omar Rodriguez-Lopez.

The full January itinerary is as follows:
January 9th – Burlington, VT – Higher Ground
January 11th – New Haven, CT – Toad’s Place
January 12th – Providence, RI – Lupo’s Heartbreak Hotel
January 14th – New York, NY – Terminal 5

RYAN ADAMS & THE CARDINALS ANNOUNCE WEST COAST DATES

NEW EP FOLLOW THE LIGHTS IN STORES NOW

Continuing an apparently endless run of some of the best-reviewed performances of his career, Ryan Adams and his Cardinals have confirmed their first dates of January ‘08.

The west coast tour extends what has already been an immensely productive year. In addition to the unanimously acclaimed new album Easy Tiger (lauded by Time as “a career breakthrough”) Ryan & The Cards recently released an EP entitled Follow The Lights, comprised of “reflective and sober renditions of a handful of Mr. Adams’ near-classics” (The New York Times). The two new songs on Follow The Lights (the title track and “My Love For You Is Real”) will be featured prominently in the ABC primetime drama “October Road”, which premiered Thanksgiving night. Finally, the band’s live shows continue to thrill audience and critics alike; The Washington Post recently noted that “[Ryan’s] perfectionism was apparent from the stunning arrangements and interplay with The Cardinals…the group sounded rehearsed and precise without sounding at all formulaic.”

The itinerary for the January tour is below. All shows go on sale the weekend of Nov 30, with the exception of San Diego, which is on sale now.

1/16 – Tulsa, OK – Cain’s Ballroom
1/18 – Tucson, AZ – Rialto Theater
1/19 – San Diego, CA – Spreckels Theatre
1/21 – Santa Barbara, CA – Arlington Theater
1/22 – Claremont, CA – Bridges Auditorium
1/23 – San Rafael, CA – Marin Center
1/25 – Salem, OR – Elsinore Theater
1/26 – Seattle, WA – Paramount Theater
1/28 – Berkeley, CA – Zellerbach Hall
1/30 – Los Angeles, CA – UCLA Royce Hall
