JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE APPEARANCE CONFIRMED FOR SEPTEMBER 21
FARM AID PERFORMANCE CONFIRMED FOR OCTOBER 2
Band of Horses has confirmed support acts for the various legs of its fall North American tour, which commences September 24 at the Greek Theater in Berkeley CA and will include stops at Los Angeles’ Greek Theater, Chicago’s Riviera Theater and an Oct. 29 homecoming gala at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center in Charleston SC, as well as stops in nearly 20 other cities. A portion of proceeds from the Charleston show as well as the Oct. 28 date at Asheville NC’s Thomas Wolfe Auditorium will benefit local chapters of the Leukemia and Lymphoma society and the Charleston Waterkeeper, whose mission is to preserve and protect the integrity of Charleston’s waterways by defending them from pollution and contamination.
The tour’s special guests will include Jenny and Johnny, Besnard Lakes, Brad, Admiral Radley, Darker My Love and more. See below for a complete market by market listing.
Prior to the band’s return to U.S. stages and following on the heels of a current run of UK/Euro festival appearances, Band of Horses will return to the small screen for a September 21 appearance on the outdoor stage of Jimmy Kimmel Live. Check local listings for further details.
Additionally, Band of Horses will perform at this year’s Farm Aid, sharing the stage with Willie Nelson, Neil Young, Dave Matthews and John Mellencamp Oct. 2 at Miller Park in Milwaukee, WI. The fall Band of Horses dates are the latest in support of the band’s third album, Infinite Arms, which is on sale for $3.99 for Friday, Aug. 13 only at Amazon.com. Produced by Band of Horses with additional production from Phil Ek and mixed by Dave Sardy, Infinite Arms’ songs project the essence of the different locales across America that became the setting for its recording and songwriting process. The rich musical heritage of Muscle Shoals, AL, the sublime beauty of Asheville’s Blue Ridge Mountains, the glamorous Hollywood Hills and the vast Mojave desert all influenced the sounds on Infinite Arms and helped yield the group’s most focused and dynamic recordings to date. The serene woods of Northern Minnesota and the band’s native Carolinas inspired the songwriting, lending the compositions an air of comfort and familiarity.
Band of Horses is Ben Bridwell, Creighton Barrett, Ryan Monroe, Tyler Ramsey and Bill Reynolds. Infinite Arms marks the recorded debut of long time touring members Ramsey and Reynolds, while Barrett and Monroe graced the last album, Cease to Begin. Through touring together in support of Cease to Begin and during breaks in the Infinite Arms recording process, the band have become a cohesive force with all members making invaluable contributions to the unmistakable sound that founder Bridwell has crafted since the band’s inception.
The latest addition to Band of Horses’ acclaimed discography arrived recently in the form of “Life On Earth” available exclusively on the new Twilight Saga: Eclipse soundtrack, joining Infinite Arms and its predecessors 2007’s Cease To Begin, the band’s 2006 debut album Everything All The Time, and a self-titled, self-released EP in 2005.
