Pre-sales for all the newly announced shows will commence Thursday, July 8.
Additionally, July 13 will mark the iTunes premiere of the video for “Laredo,” the first official single from Band of Horses’ third album Infinite Arms, which was released May 18 by Brown/Fat Possum/Columbia, moving in excess of 45,000 units in its debut week and entering the U.S. chart at a career high #7. The “Laredo” video was shot on location in Pioneertown, CA, and features footage from an impromptu set the band played at local haunt Pappy & Harriet’s. The clip was edited by Duncan Shepherd and produced by Merge @ Crossroads Films.
Infinite Arms was produced by Band of Horses with additional production from Phil Ek and mixed by Dave Sardy, its songs projecting the essence of the different locales across America that became the setting for its recording and songwriting process. The rich musical heritage of Muscle Shoals, AL, the sublime beauty of Asheville’s Blue Ridge Mountains, the glamorous Hollywood Hills and the vast Mojave desert all influenced the sounds on Infinite Arms and helped yield the group’s most focused and dynamic recordings to date. The serene woods of Northern Minnesota and the band’s native Carolinas inspired the songwriting, lending the compositions an air of comfort and familiarity.
Band of Horses is Ben Bridwell, Creighton Barrett, Ryan Monroe, Tyler Ramsey and Bill Reynolds. Infinite Arms marks the recorded debut of long time touring members Ramsey and Reynolds, while Barrett and Monroe graced the last album, Cease to Begin. Through touring together in support of Cease to Begin and during breaks in the Infinite Arms recording process, the band have become a cohesive force with all members making invaluable contributions to the unmistakable sound that founder Bridwell has crafted since the band’s inception.
The latest addition to Band of Horses’ acclaimed discography arrived recently in the form of “Life On Earth” available exclusively on the new Twilight Saga: Eclipse soundtrack, joining Infinite Arms and its predecessors 2007’s Cease To Begin, the band’s 2006 debut album Everything All The Time, and a self-titled, self-released EP in 2005.
Band of Horses is currently playing a handful of U.S. dates before spending the remainder of the summer abroad, where they will traverse Australia, Japan, the European continent and the UK before returning to North America in September.
