LCD SOUNDSYSTEM WINS BEST DANCE GRAMMY
“tonite” Wins for Best Dance Recording
LCD Soundsystem has won the first of two categories in which it was nominated at the 60th Annual GRAMMY Awards in New York City.
“tonite” from the band’s American Dream (Columbia Records/DFA) album took home the GRAMMY for Best Dance Recording.
American Dream (Columbia Records/DFA) is also nominated for Best Alternative Music Album.
The win for “tonite” is LCD Soundsystem’s first out of a total of five nominations over the course of the band’s career.
LCD Soundsystem’s fourth album, American Dream, was released September 1, 2017. The album debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 and ended the year with Best of 2017 accolades from the likes of ROLLING STONE, TIME, ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY, STEREOGUM, BILLBOARD, the AV CLUB, NEWSWEEK, PASTE, PITCHFORK, CONSEQUENCE OF SOUND and many more.
LCD Soundsystem recently announced its first new U.S. headline dates of 2018: April 27 at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, May 3 at the Santa Barbara Bowl, and May 4 and 5 at the Hollywood Bowl. The band’s return to the Hollywood Bowl will feature Yeah Yeah Yeahs plus special guest TBA, while the Berkeley date will feature support from TV On The Radio.
