Debut Album A Thing Called Divine Fits Out Now on Merge
Divine Fits has confirmed its first full scale U.S. tour in support of its recently released and widely acclaimed debut album, A Thing Called Divine Fits (Merge).
The tour will kick off October 16 in Pawtucket RI and will wind up with a November 4 show at Los Angeles’ Fonda Theater. Cold Cave will support from the October 21 show at Webster Hall in New York City onward. Support for the October 16-19 dates is still TBD.
The announcement of the new dates follows on Divine Fits’ handful of shows to date, which began with a series of debut shows in the band members’ hometowns of Austin, Montreal and Columbus OH that drew unanimous raves including AUSTINIST’s “The rapturous applause throughout the entirety of the band’s excellent set let them know they were doing more than a few things right. Put simply, things couldn’t have gone better.”
Divine Fits’ fall tour is also preceded by a series of one-offs and festival appearances, as well a Los Angeles residency that concludes tonight at The Echo. The LOS ANGELES TIMES called the penultimate show of the residency a “powerful, at times hypnotic gig at the Masonic Temple” that proved “three men with recognizable gifts and a keen sense of song can build mesmerizing musical structures.”
