All tickets for Band of Horses’ special pre-Lollapalooza show August 2nd at Cabaret Metro in Chicago sold out within hours of going on sale this weekend. Although the band will not be appearing at Lollapalooza this year, the August 2 Metro gig will provide some 1000 or so lucky Band of Horses fans in town for the festival with a first ever opportunity to see songs from the upcoming Mirage Rock performed live.
Band of Horses fans now also have the option to purchase the limited edition deluxe version of Mirage Rock, featuring five bonus tracks as well as access to exclusive behind the scenes footage of the band and producer Glyn Johns creating the record. Mirage Rock will be released September 18th on Brown/Columbia. First single “Knock Knock” is already available for individual purchase and as an instant grat with pre-orders.
In other news, Band of Horses has confirmed that it will appear on this October’s Railroad Revival tour with Willie Nelson, Jamey Johnson and John Reilly. Tickets are on sale now at www.railroadrevival.com for this one-of-a-kind 8-city train tour traversing the southern U.S. to northern California aboard 16 vintage 1940’s railcars, setting up open air pop-up venues in parks, fields and lots around the railroad tracks at each stop.
