White Rabbits will take over the tour’s direct support slot beginning October 7 at Nashville’s famed Ryman Auditorium, continuing through Atlanta, Houston and Dallas. The dates with The Shins add to an extensive and ongoing worldwide regimen that has also featured appearances on The Late Show With David Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and Conan (accompanied by the Basic Cable Band), and will include a free June 30 show at New York’s Music Hall of Williamsburg and an August 5 appearance at Lollapalooza in Chicago.
White Rabbits’ third album Milk Famous (tbd Records) recently earned a comparison from Time Out New York to “a Pixar film: you may get the idea right away, but there’s a treasure trove of complexity waiting to be discovered,” while Rolling Stone noted that “Milk Famous often recalls Radiohead’s ability to find integrity in restless mutability.” Of the White Rabbits’ engaging live show, SF Station’s Pulse blog raved “you cannot fully experience White Rabbits until you see them live. One of their drummers, Matthew Clark… is one of the most entertaining live performers in the indie rock scene today. Lead vocalist Stephen Patterson is incredibly engaging as well, effortlessly jumping between guitar and piano.”
