“Keep It Quiet” Preview Up Now at RaRaRiot.com
Ra Ra Riot has announced an extensive North American tour in support of its upcoming sophomore album, The Orchard, out August 24 on Barsuk. Preceded by appearances at the Osheaga and Bumbershoot festivals and a support slot for Devo at this year’s Columbus Ohio State Fair, the tour kicks off with a September 21-24 four-night stand in New York, with coast to coast headlining dates running through to late November.
Meanwhile, “Keep It Quiet,” a two-minute preview on the making of The Orchard recently premiered at RaRaRiot.com. Directed by Taryn Gould and Emily Kowalczyk, “Keep It Quiet” provides a brief glimpse into the idyllic setting in which the new album was written, including exclusive performance footage shot in the orchard that inspired the record’s title.
Produced by Ra Ra Riot and Andrew Maury and mixed by Chris Walla (with the exception of “Do You Remember,” which was mixed by Vampire Weekend’s Rostam Batmanglij), The Orchard’s full track listing is:
1. The Orchard
2. Boy
3. Too Dramatic
4. Foolish
5. Massachusetts
6. You and I Know
7. Shadowcasting
8. Do You Remember
9. Kansai
10. Keep It Quiet
The Orchard follows up Ra Ra Riot’s debut album, The Rhumb Line, released two years earlier, almost to the day. The Rhumb Line debuted at #109 on the U.S. album chart and went on to sell in excess of 60,000 copies.
Ra Ra Riot is vocalist Wes Miles, bassist Mathieu Santos, guitarist Milo Bonacci, violinist Rebecca Zeller and cellist Alexandra Lawn. The Orchard marks the first time the band has been joined in the studio by drummer Gabriel Duquette, who has toured with the band since the release of The Rhumb Line.
